changed the address and the names.
My Doctor called me to tell me that he didn't understand the letter he received from VESID. Vesid helps people with disabilities with vocational, educational, etc. and I want them to help me get a job with reasonable accomodations for the many conditions I have. But the letter didn't make any sense. So when my Doctor called, he wasn't making any sense. He asked me to come in and view the letter for myself.
The date of birth was wrong, I'm not 20 years old, I'm 50. The letter asked for test results I had in 2002 that I never had in 2002.
The letter was supposed to ask what reasonable accomodations I need for the many health conditions I've had and for the MRI results of my accident last year. Then it dawned on me, it was a letter that my job counselor had used for someone else and he used it as a form letter. Birthdate wrong, tests wrong, etc.
So I called Vesid and my job counselor wasn't in. So I emailed my counselor and asked that he straighten out this mess.
I hope this gets straightened out and I get a job that I won't end up needing more medical attention because of the job. Some jobs cost me more in medical attention than I make. Like the one where everyone smoked so my rhinitus flared up and I ended up with a sinus and ear infection. The medical bills were more than I made and I had to give that job up. Then another job dust got into my eyes, even with protective glasses, and aggrevated my occular rosacea which created swelling, blood shot eyes, sensitivity (extreme pain) to light and cost more than I made. So it would be nice if I could get a job that I could keep and wouldn't cost me more in medical expenses than I made.
So has a form letter or one used as a form letter ever caused confusion for you? Has a job ever cost you more than you made? Have people trying to help you sometimes been more of a problem than a help? Have you ever received a letter in which everything or most things were wrong?

Sounds like this form letter was a nightmare and caused you more stress than you needed. Why couldn't the doctor mail the form to your house to save you a trip to his office? That would have been some help.
I have never received a form letter of this nature. I do have a job that costs me medical bills because of all the standing. I have bulging disks and standing for long periods of time causes major pain in my lower back, hip and sometimes the femoral nerve. The only relief, when it gets real bad, is to have an epidural. This is terribly expensive but our insurance covers most of the cost.
Hope you get this mess straightened out and you are able to land a job soon.

One of my reasonable accomodations should be that I can stand or sit as necessary. Sounds like that would be a reasonable accomodation for you, too. I see that more places are allowing people to stand and sit as they need to. Aldi's is very good about allowing their cashiers to sit. Some banks allow tellers to sit or stand, too. Maybe that would cut down on not only expense, but pain for you.
If he sent it to me, we couldn't discuss it and work on it together.
The counselor called me and said that he was sorry about the confusion. He clarified what he wanted and then called my Doctor. He explained it to him, too.
We have a list of conditions and reasonable needs. That way I won't spend as much time and money at the Doctors' Offices as at work. Thanks and take care.
