How do you deal with Monday Blues?

My friends tease me that I have a nine month holiday in my present job. I do enjoy my deserved long summer holidays after a hard scholastic year being patient with unruly students. I go back to work on Thursday after a two months break. I dread the moment that I have to start the car engine and drive to my place of work. Does anybody has any solution how to deal with Monday blues? (or in my case can we call it Thursday blues)

I am not a good monday person myself. I have trouble sleeping sunday nights because I hate mondays. I like my job, I am selfemployed, but I still have a thing about mondays. I have always been that way, since I was about 16 years old. So it is no surprise to me that it has continued on till now. I don't know how to get rid of the monday blues but I wanted to respond so I can see if anyone else has some good ideas and since I am responding from my email I can't read them till after I respond. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

I have an interesting mehtod of dealing with Monday Blues that has arised through no effort of my own whatsoever! In Egypt, the first day of the working week is actually Sunday and not Monday so there is no such thing! Thankfully though there has been no Sunday Blues replacement for me in spite of this! My advice is to try to change this mindset ASAP. Think of as many positive aspects of returning to work as you can and try to focus on these instead of riling yourself up with thoughts of dread and despair. The more you get stressed about returning, the worse it is going to get. Maybe this year will be a case of new students that are actually far better behaved than last year? Either way it is a new school year so therefore a new beginning! Keep an open and positive mind and try not to assume that this year will be the same as the last.....

I'd like holidays, especially summer holidays because their long and we can enjoy a lot on our vacations. I know how you are feeling about going to work on Mondays. I too don't like to go to college after I had a hand a good vacation. the only way to solve Monday morning blues is to do the work that we are interested in and that we really love doing. Otherwise we never feel like going to the work after we had a good vacation.
