What if Carbon dating is proved wrong? Does that stumble the age determination ?

Hi everyone! Im a new member and i'd like to start this discussion coz it has always been my doubt. Iv not seen much discussions in such a topic! looks like everybody agrees. Now lemme get to the point.... As far as i know, the technique uses some figures as half life of the C-14 disintergration. calculated as around 5700 years, this turns out to be the fundamental principle behind the age determination. Iv came to know that the half life itself, is calculated by recording instantaneous radiation intensity which is intergrated over an indefinite period to obtain the half life... Well, my quetion is , how can science intergrate such a quantity over indefinite period ? Who knows , whether C-14 goes to any other states, converts to any other matter etc? Anyway one thing is sure . NO MAN HAS LIVED FOR THE ENTIRE HALF LIFE PERIOD TO DETERMINE IT WITH SUCH SUREITY. I'd like you people to post your viewpoints with a good scientific explanation....

Carbon 14 dating is reliable. for a test to be reliable, it has to go through many processes to qualify. Like we have this thing called a 'theory' and a 'hypothesis'. I can't give you scientific details, sorry m not capable of that. But C-14 is not the only test available to date things of antiquity. There are 10 plus tests and they complement each other's reliability.
