Sleeping

My son is 10 months old and he's gotten into this habit of waking up pretty much every hour throughout the night. He doesn't have any naps during the day (well not usually anyway). He also eats 3 times a day, as well as snacks throughout the day. He's just getting used to eating big people food. He eats bread, crackers, cherrios, little pieces of meat, pretty much everything. He also drinks a lot. Water, juice, and breastmilk. However, he's still not sleeping. He doesn't have a fever, there's no teeth coming in (not as far as I know anyway). It's to the point where my husband and I getting out of a bed is a chore. Is there anything I can do? Is it just a phase in his life? Any help would be appreciated.

Too much eating can cause sleeping disorder too. Make his room as comfortable as possible, you can also try to play some relaxing music and arrange the room temperature. That's what I do to my toddler. Right now, he is 1.5 years old and never experience major difficulty on sleeping. I suggest you to contact pediatrician to consult this matter. It's probably psychological matter. Hope you can solve this problem, so sorry if I cannot help much to solve it.

I think alot of children go threw this, but you have to make sure not to reward this behavior or he will continue it. First off, I am a believer that all children need naps. At the age of 10 months, he probably gets over tired which then makes it harder to get to sleep at night. If you are going in his room every time he wakes up, this is a reward to him. Try going in once and reassuring him that he is fine and it is night night time. Don't pick him up, give him a drink or anything like that. If he contines to want you, you have to wait it out. It will take some will power and sleepless nights, but it is worth it to have him learn to sleep threw the night.

What do you do, when he cries at night and you go to him? Looks like he hasn't learned yet to go back to sleep on his own. Does he know you are there? It's a phase all kids pretty much go to, but without the correct measures, it can be a very long phase. http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/733175/should_you_let_your_baby_cry_it_out.html?cat=25

kids are normally like that. my four month old does that too, nowadays. and she even takes her naps during the day. your son's habits are still on their forming phase, and when he finally gets around to practicing the normal habits of grown-ups, you'll be surprised at how much he's grown enjoy your child!
