Not only smoking is injurious to health of the person who smokes but also of the people aroud him. I wonder why smoking is not banned by the government. What do you think? Please send in your comments.

First it is big money for some people :D Second some people wish to smoke, and because it was allowed once, they can't completely get rid of it I think And third, because they do not have they right to do it, in my opinion.. Have a nice day..

As the poster above me said, the main reason that smoking is not banned is because of the high revenue it brings in to the government. I live in the UK, which is purportedly still a free country; if our government was to try to ban smoking (especially now, our PM is not the most popular guy around!), there would be uproar. People have the right to choose whether they want to smoke or not. Smokers have already been forced out of buildings and made to smoke outside, there really isn't much more that can be done without becoming a dictatorship.
