When I was growing up, not everybody had money. They traded possessions for goods. My grandfather use to trade food for pigs or cows or whatever. He grew his own food. If a neighbor was going hungry he'd give them a supply of decent food in exchange for their pig, cow, or several chickens. He'd then slaughter the pig & exchange it for sugar & flour. They would have chicken for dinner, peach pie for sessert & milk to drink. His family was far from rich but they never went hungry & neither did any of his neighbors.

Barter was indeed a good option Marissa, but just think about those people who are not capable of exchanging something that is most required by them. So what would happen to those people. What do you think of a person who wants to buy a blanket in winter cold and is asked for his house on exchange!

Coming from a family that believes in giving & sharing, I cannot even imagine. I think back then, people weren't so greedy as they are now. Anyone who would ask for a home in exchange for a blanket should rot in Hell!!!

Do you mean like, literally not having money? I think we already experienced that phase. back then, people used the barter method. They exchange their items for other people's item...and I think they were okay back then...cause that was the only method that they had. But now? I think it'll be really weird and it'll be a big change for people to live a life without money. Cause we've been so used with that.

It would really be wierd as well as impossible for the next generation but there needs to be a way out. As gold was in exchange for paper currency but what would be the exchange for paper currency and gold altogether.?

Our ancestors do the trading process without any money involve, and they can still take what they need trough barter. Do not be bother to have a world without money for sure people can live by digitized cards that will soon come to erase papaer money forever.

Digitized card will also be on some exchange buddy. As paper money is in exchange of gold reserve that a country possess. So what would be the exchange for digitized cards.?

If you're talking about bartering, it is a difficult process that is much simplified by using currency, the favoured mode of transaction in the world today. Trading and bartering was difficult as the prices of each object were not well established. After all, if you were to barter with apples, how many apples would a computer cost, in today's modern society? And if you decided to change to oranges instead, how much would that cost?

Right dude. Are there any other options than bartering and currency usage in todays modern era. Plastic money is also in exchange of currency only. What do you think about food and gold. I think food will become a major commodity in coming years.
