Are you excited? Have you already started shopping for gifts? I think this will be a not so extravagant Christmas for us. We have to celebrate it in a tight budget because finances are tough right now. But it's not the gifts that you give or receive that's important. It's not also the food served on the table. It's the thought of giving that we should celebrate. And that we have our family to celebrate it with. Happy mylotting!

I have gotten a few gifts, but there won't be a lot of 'material' gifts bought this year. My gift will be me! lol I'm flying back to see my parents, sister, and daughters. We haven't all been together at Christmas since Christmas '04, and I haven't see them (except my oldest daughter) in two years. So I'm flying down, renting a car and driving to my parents house. I'll arrive on the 23rd. None of them know I'm coming, so surprise! hehe

I am really excited because Christmas is also a sort of get together among us. We tend to see our relatives of whom we not see for a long time. We exchanges happenings and news. It is more of building the ties again. And of course celebrating the birth of our Lord.

I don't want to think about Christmas, yet. Good grief, Halloween hasn't even come, yet. Anyway, I don't think my kids will be here, and I'll have to work. That's ok, I'm not so into Christmas, anyway. It's all getting so commericialized and frantic. Well, perhaps when it gets closer, like a day or so before the actual day, I'll get a little excited. I do like the decorations, the lights, the smells, and so on. Of course I try and remember Jesus. Maybe I'll just light a candle for him, say some prayers for the world, as it dosn't seem to be in such good shape right now. There are so many people suffering so much. Maybe I'll find a midnight mass, somewhere, I love those, the music, the frankencense and so on.

Is that all it is? Wow, that is not very far away when I think of it like that. Well, I have already started my christmas shopping, I started it a few weeks ago, I have to really as I have four children and then loads of nieces and nephews too. Plus everyone also decides to have a birthday in the months before christmas and so it is actually a hard time for us trying to get the money together for everything. I have to set a budget now, I have to otherwise I would never manage it all, our finances are tight now too.

Yeah Christmas! Time to enjoy and celebrate with your family! And to receive gifts, lot of gifts xD! Well since I am kind of an adult now I think I ain't gonna receive that much gifts =(... I guess It's my turn to pay for the gifts for the little kids in my family xD. But still, I like Christmas. It's a very good time for me since most people behave different, no idea maybe the mood or something. But even unknow people I meet at the streets just smily and wish me merry Christmas. It's a nice feeling, that people actually feel happy just because it's Christmas. I wish people could be like that all year =). Also I wish that in my city it would snow lol!. I think am gonna ask Santa for it xD. Snowing in the tropical countries please Santa =D!

It's only 90 days till Christmas for me. Christmas starts on Dec. 15th for me this year. We are going on a trip and that is the day we leave. Not much gift exchanging this year as the trip is our gifts to each other this year. Extended family all want updated pictures of my son. That will all be taken care of next week, then I have nothing to do but count the days.

We are on a pretty tight budget as well. My fiance and I have decided to buy each other small gifts if any, and use the rest for our daughter since this is her first christmas and her first birthday. My gift is the look on her face seeing all the presents and her enjoying her christmas tree. It is defiantly a time for me to reflect, that she is growing so fast. Christmas this year is going to be really special for me and my fiance so I am very excited for it.

I'm very excited. We have 4 small kids and try to buy gifts throughout the year. We have all my one daughters presents and a couple others but we have to get some for the other kids and haven't got any for each other. I love christmas, I love the family togetherness, I love the songs, I love to give, I love to see others happy. Its a great time.

No gifts yet, just lots of ideas. I'm excited every year for Christmas wether or not finances are low. I'm usually just the 'buyer' of gifts and usually never get anything besides from the gift exchange at work. I just love Christmas though, it's the season for giving! :)

100 days till Christmas? I can't wait. Just yesterday I was mowing the lawn and thinking about where I was going to put my Santa this year. I get so excited, I could start decorating today if my husband wouldn't literally kill me for doing so. He insists we take one holiday at a time, go figure. I have done a little Christmas shopping but not enough. I usually like to be completely done by Thanksgiving so I better put a move on. I do most of my shopping online (from my own website of course ~ shameless plug ~ lol). Thanks for making me smile today ~ just knowing I only have 100 more days makes me feel like dancing!!!

You are right! It's not the gift its the thought of the gift. It's the love that is shared. Yes I have already started shopping for Christmas. I like to start early. I find great deals online and in stores. It's much easier on the wallet this way! I do online work for extra spending money. My plan was to spend all my online money on gifts. No more---- just buy what I made. I took about $400 and spent it on a mini-vacation to the beach right before school started. So now I'm working hard to make it up again. I go on a weekend long shopping trip with 2 good friends. I want to make $400-$500 before this- We go in November. I'm already over $200. Start early and get those deals!

Now that this discussion is 6 months old and christmas has passed, how was your christmas? Did you get a lot of gifts? Was it as lean as you thought back when you posted this discussion or did things get better and you have more money to spend on gifts? I don't shop that far in advance for christmas because I have a hard time picking things out so I tend to put it off and wait till the last minute. This year I gave the kids all money so they could buy what they want. My nephews are 14 and 15 now so I don't know what to buy them anyways. And then the newest member of our family, my nephew, is only 3 months old so I wouldn't know what to buy as she, my niece, the mom, has everything she already needs for him. Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good mylotting day, Chris

Xmas is the time I've been waiting for in one year period. THis is the time my husband and I are going to have a trip back to our hometown. Our relatives from anywhere will gather in our hometown so our house will be full of people! We don't usually give gifts to one another, maybe just between me and my husband yet I still haven't looked anything for him . So yeah, we're very excited and can't wait to celebrate xmas!

I think gifts are not that important. What's important is that you have each other and the rest of your relatives.
