When a person leaves a job on their own many times will have an exit interview. The purpose of the interview is to find out how the Company can improve to keep good employees. I would like to see the Media interview some of the business that has shipped jobs overseas and find out why.
Talking to some business people and asking why they moved a plant or operations from a certain area you get many different answers. One man I know sold a small business to a large Company because he could not keep up with all the paper work and reports required by the government. The larger Company had a couple of people who did just that. The result was that 2-3 people lost good paying jobs and had to leave the community to find another job. The community lost some very active people in the community.
One Company moved it corporate offices to a different state because of the tax climate in the state. The state they moved from increased the corporate tax, the personal income tax and took away investment tax credits. The new state still had a corporate tax but much lower, the state tax was a sales tax and not an income tax.
In different articles I have seen several reasons why businesses leave the US. Some of the reasons given were:
1. Government Paper work to prove you tried to hire minorities
2. Corporate Taxes (which are passed on to the Consumer in higher prices)
3. The cost of expanding business - Cost of EPA studies, Expansion can be stopped because of a rodent who some think are endangered.
4. Lawsuits because the company has money. they will pay a lawsuit because it is cheaper than fighting it even if they win. Many countries have a tort system where the loser pays the legal cost of both parties.
These are just a few reasons but they are not leaving just for lower wages but less government interference.

I believe this to be true.
We have too much regulation, too many taxes, and too much government interference.
When you add the interference from the environazis and whackos, then it becomes a lot easier to actually do business away from all of that.
The liberals want more regulation, more taxes, and more control over our companies, so it is no real surprise to find them seeking a more business friendly climate.
Somehow the liberals just can't make the connection.
Socialism is by nature anti-business.
