I always knew sleep was important however I didn't have a clue that sleep and heart disease risks were related. I just love these little health tip newsletters. A quick and easy to read tips to improve your life.
This is a clip from an article at RemedyLife.com"In the study of 210 middle-aged adults, poor sleep was associated with certain cardiovascular risk factors in women but not men: higher levels of insulin, which boosts the risk of type 2 diabetes, and higher levels of certain markers of inflammation linked to greater heart disease risk. And compared with the men, more of the poor-sleeping women were overweight or obese."
The article goes on to say men who reported low quality sleep tend to have higher testosterone levels which may block some of the effects of poor sleep. You can read the rest of the article here - http://www.elabs7.com/functions/message_view.html?mid=545297&mlid=12380&siteid=31182&uid=ac26ded8a4
How about you, were you aware of the risk factors associated with poor sleep quality? Do you read newsletters to improve your lifestyle?
