Hello,
To bad your scared of cats... they do no harm.. really. I have got three of them.
I myself am afraid of spiders.. not when they are on the wall or something... but when they come close I will start to scream. I must say 'm not afraid of really tiny spiders...

I'm terrified of giant intergalactic pickles from the 8th dimension coming into my house through the light fixtures and eating my stash of potato crisps and robbing me of my collection of fingernail clippings! Maybe I should hire someone to protect me.

I am not scared of anything harming me physically, but am scared of my near and dear ones getting hurt.
This life is full of joys and sorrows, the joys are generally more, (I'd say even for the poorest beggar the ratio of joys:sorrow would be 80:20), but because the sorrows hurt us, we tend to remember them more, and feel that our life is full of sadness, hence we fear. But time has thought me that after every dark night, there is a bright sunny morning just a few hours away. So that helps dull the pain of the sorrows, reduce/eliminate the fears!
