Text Messaging - Do You Do It While Driving, Walking or Anything Else?

I see people text messaging all day long when I am on the road. I used to do it, but realized that driving or walking or even operating a commuter train is not the time to be text messaging. Such every day tasks require fast thinking and reaction time that staring down at the cell phone is extremely dangerous and it could mean your life and the life of others. This is as bad as reading a newspaper at the red light, putting make up on while driving or even taking a sip of the soda. What do you think? Will the horrible commuter/freight train collision in Los Angeles change your mind about text messaging while doing something that puts you and your loved ones in harms way?

I text whenever I feel like it, whether I'm laying in bed, eating, walking, running, or driving. Of course, texting while driving is unsafe, but if you know the keypad like you know the keys on a keyboard, then you don't even have to look at your phone to text. Keep your eyes on the road.

My opinion on this subject would be,no I dont send text messages while driving, walking or anything else because it is dangerous you might have a accident while doing it.I would rather send text messages while I am at home lying on the bed or stiiting on the couch.Hope you liked my response and have a nice day.

I do not text while driving. It is really dangerous and I am not going to put my life and the lives of the passengers riding with me at risk. I've seen a lot of people using their phones and sending text messages while driving and they tend to drive really slowly and swerve a lot. It's really scary and annoying. Even if you're at a red light, you shouldn't use your phone. You should always be concentrated on driving. While walking, I think it's ok to use your phone and text as long as you are aware of the people around you and you don't bump anyone. If I'm walking and I receive a message, I would stop and look at it or keep walking while texting if there was someone with me to guide me.
