I just logged on to my profile to check my messages and to add new friends that had made requests in response to my one "new discussion" yesterday. And while I was very pleased with the results of my post (check my profile to see what I'm talking about) and all the new friends I added, I was a little bit taken aback by the equal amount of negative messages I got. Most of the negativity had to do with people saying that, while my idea was good, it didn't fit into the fabric of the My Lot community and that I shouldn't be here for monetary reasons only. It really bothered me that people felt that they needed to respond to my idea and tell me that I was wrong when, in reality, my experiment was actually about making a group of people a little bit tighter in terms of friendship and community. I'm sorry for being a little upset but I am constantly reading posts saying how much of a community we are and how much enjoyment they get out of posting and responding to discussions and that the money is just an added bonus for them. But then turn right around and with the next sentence remind people to not forget to post responses because it gets your ranking higher which, in turn, will make you more money. Most of the posts on here are nothing more than simplistic questions and comments that even a five year old could respond to. (granted, there are some really well versed people on this site who I frequently enjoy reading) And no, I'm not new here. I've tried to have serious discussions and received no responses. I've asked truly personal questions that I really needed advise to and got nothing in return. One time, I even had to go to the "Make Money Online" discussion board just to ask people to go and read my question on another page. And god help you if you try to be creative I think this site has wonderful potential, but most of the users don't care. Thanks, I feel much better now.......How bout them Yankees

We are here for 2 reasons, 1. To earn some money * 2. To participate in discussions Notice the sequence? yes...

I'm completely with you on this. It is starting to irritate me that those thought-profoking posts where I will enjoy participating in, seems to be getting very rare. The best response I have gotten on a discussion I started was when I posted a genuine question about something directly affecting my life. I'm just not interested to try and participate in the hundreds of discussion where people are asking the most random questions just to try and increase their earnings and ranking. It seems most people here are more interested in quantity, rather than focussing on quality posts.
