What are you giving up?

In a struggling economy and rising gas and food prices, many of us are cutting back expenses to save money. We are not going to movies. And we don't drive around as much. Our eat out budget is seriously cut. What about you?

There are lots of things that I would cut, but I tend to try only to make cuts where required. I don't want my family to feel like we can't do anything fun.

We don't buy as many groceries, we eat more sandwiches than we ever have before.. So I guess it would be groceries.. We have cut back on eating out, but since it is just the two of us, it is sometimes cheaper to eat out than to cook at home.. We do have to use our car on a daily basis, so I can't say that we have cut back on gasoline, because we haven't.. I wish we could.. We need to give the old budget another trim just to keep ourselves afloat..

Same I don't get to town often but now it is even less often, I have to pay someone to take me to town and they charge up to $15-$20. So now we can't afford it as much. We have cut back on food as well. And buying chips. My husband used to buy a candy bar and chips every night but now he doesn't buy the candy bars anymore since they went up to $.80ยข-$1.00 a bar for regular sized bars not king. And also only buys 1 bag a week of chips.

The high prices have really put restrictions on us. We did not take a vacation this summer because it was to expensive to go anywhere. We buy the cheapest food we can and still go over budget. We haven't been to a movie in over a year. We do no extra driving. When my wife says she wants to go to buy something I tell her that we need to wait until me need more items to make the shopping trip worth while.

Well since we do not have a car, we are pretty much saving a lot by not getting one. We walked or take the bus. We eat more simple meals, saddly we are skipping on the veggies.
