So I find this little dog at the park yesterday. He was really cute but scared and really under fed. My husband got him to finally come to him and I decided being the humanitarian I am (or animaltarian?) that we would take him home to feed him. Well I live with my grandma and knew she wouldn't let us keep it but I figured someone could take him. As soon as we got home he ate a whole can of dog food. We called everyone we knew and no one could take him. We were really sad we had to let him go. I wish I would have remembered to take a picture of it cause I don't know what kind it was.

why didnt you adopt the dog. he cant be off help to you. he can guard the house or takes care of you. why did you let him go. i thought you are a good humanitarian. feeding him wont take all your budget. it will cost you so little to fed the dog.

I live with gram and she already has a dog which is a lot bigger then this little thing. Maybe she was afraid she would get stuck taking care of it. It broke my heart to have to let it go.

So did you find a home for him? What did he look like? I understand your Grandma not letting you keep him. He was an underfed stray and could have had any kind of disease or worms. But you did a very good thing by not letting him stay on the streets hungry...good girl! If we had more people like you in this world, there would be a lot less homeless animals.

how nice of you , I like dogs but not the work that goes with them, thats the reason I never kept dogs but I feel I should get one now as I want my kids to grow up with dogs and know the joy the animals bring in to the life. But they are like little persons and its real hard to look after them, its like raising a baby. You did a nice thing anyways by looking after himfor a while you never kow he may return. Do you not have any NGO's who looka fter strays in your city , In Delhi we have friendicos who looks after such abandnd animals if you call them up.They also let people adopt dogs if they want to.

I don't think it is fair for you to say those things.
When you take on a dog, it does take a lot of money - not just for food, but for vet's bills and other things like equipment for a new dog.
I also don't think you can know the circumstances of the original poster, and it is quite nasty to attack her for not taking in this dog.
She did what she could, she gave it some food, and tried to find it a new home.
Who knows, the next time it is really hungry, it might end up on her doorstep just to get another tin of dog food.
That doesn't mean you are honour bound to keep it.
All we can ever do is our best.
