it also depends on people. if they are not ready to get married & they are not financially stabled yet, then just enjoy your single life hehehe..

Ours was prolonged to a 4 year engagement thing. The reason, my hubby (then boyfriend) was taking up LAW. So we had to wait for him to pass the BAR. It really depends. Some marriage lasts with a short engagement --- even as short as months. Some works out with long engagements.

Long enagement can be considered as being married, just that there's no formal cermony for that recognition as lawful husband and wife ^_^ SOmetimes, an engagement is just like an securtiy to the woman, or maybe a start to marriage, if they are planing to do so in the near future ^_^ I have got frenz whom are engaged and yet they have not gone thru the actual ceremony yet, but i agree with u, any period more than 2 yrs, is not a good sign for things to happen..

I know people who did not succeed or end up marrying after 5-10 years of relationship. I also know some who got married after 5 months, so I guess it depends on the two party involved to handle their relationship.
