There's this variety of bananas here in the Philippines, it's called "Saging na Saba."
Saba bananas like corn are versatile, too. It's an ingredient for the famous Potchero, Halo-halo, Ginataan, and Arroz Ala Cubana. Saba bananas are simply great when boiled, sweetened, bananaque–deep-fried, and turon–deep-fried with sliced ripe jackfruit inside. These bananas can also be made into chips. They're sweetened and coated with sucrose or honey and deep-fried. They're sweet, crispy and crunchy. Great for snacks!

i love banana chips but after eating them, i crave something salty. i like the saba banana. i love the turon and bananaQ. but i don't like sweet viands so i don't like it as an ingredient in viands.

I tried to like these, but, I dunno, maybe it was the certain ones I got. I do enjoy some and I'm looking to try banana chips that are really homemade and not packaged. I always wondered what would be a great dip for banana chips. I'd like to try it with sour cream or something.
