Ok I seemed to have desert in my head today and now cookies are floating about dangerously and I'm ready to try this new recipe but I wanted your take on the recipe and to see if you guys have ever made these cookies. So our new recipe to try this week and improve upon is Maple Oat Chewies Ingrediants 1c. granulated sugar 1c. packed brown sugar 1c. butter or margarine, softened 1 Tbsp. Molasses 2 tsp. maple flavor 2 eggs 1 3/4c. all purpose flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 2c quick cooking oats or old fashioned oat 2c. crisp rice cereal Directions 1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets with shortening or cooking spray. In large bowl, beat sugars and butter with electric meixer on meduim speed, scrapping bowl occassionally, until light and fluffy. Beat in molasses, maple flavor and eggs. Add flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt; beat on medium speed until well blended. Stir in oats and cereal. 2. Onto cookie sheets, drop dough by heaping teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart. Bake 8 to 12 minutesor until light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheets. So the picture looks good and this is one I'm going to be trying over the weekend for the kids. My questions to you is have you ever made these cookies? If so how did they turn out? Also did you have any variations on them? What would you do to make this cookie even better? What experiments would you try on this cookie to make it achieve perfectness.?
