separate vacations?

There was a period where my sister had more vacation time than her husband and I had more vacation time than mine. So we took several vacations together. We went camping and to Washington DC and to Hawaii and on a cruise. That's not really happening any more because her husband doesn't work so he can go whenever she can. :-( But anyway do you think separate vacations is a good idea or a bad idea?

I don't think that it's a good idea to have separate vacations from your spouse. If it is a one off it is one thing, but if it happens year after year it is another. I believe that couples should have quality time together.

I don't think it's a problem as long as you have vacations together too.

I have never taken a separate vacation in 27 years of marriage. Must try it out some time. But alone? I hate the idea of going on a vacation alone.

I wouldn't do it totally alone either. I'd go with a family member or a close friend.

I think it depends on who you are vacationing with. I go on a vacation once a year with my sisters while my husband stays home with the kids. He really has never gone on a vacation without me, but I wouldn't mind if he does. The important thing is that we still always take our family vacation together! That is the most important vacaiton.
