What Makes a Good Discussion?

I don't start new discussions that often, though when I do they usually don't get that many responses. What makes a good or hot discussion? Any hints to bring in more responses? Just curious. What makes you decide to respond to a discussion?

I respond to discussions that interests me. I've been a member here over a year and there are many repeated discussions. I hardly reply to the same topic twice unless the repeated discussion is started by a friend. I guess a good discussion is one which most people can relate to in their daily life. It must also be interesting enough for them to have something to share. Good luck and hope you will get more responses.

Nah.. you are not. Maybe you got to make more friends here. Friends tend to answer to your discussions.

Really good question! I've been trying to figure that one out for nearly two years. I have no idea what makes a good discussion. Sometimes I post topics that I really love and get zero (or hardly any) responses. Other times when I post a no brainer, i.e. "What flavor is your toothpaste", then I get 100 responses. Most times you'll get more responses if you post generic questions everyone can relate to. That's what works best for me. Otherwise just post what you want. Talk about the things that you want. Get some frustrations off your mind. That works for me too. Best of luck!

I guess that makes sense! I will try to be more general, or maybe just gripe and see what happens. Thanks!

I guess most people here like no brainer discussions.

Yes, that is a very good point. I sometimes have trouble finding discussions in some of the topics. Though mylot and politics are usually quite full! LOL.

There's no such thing as good and hot discussion. the main thing that directs you to response to a discussion, is your interest. You can elaborate things on a piece of issue you would like to discuss. If your intention is to make a good company, be sure you have the heart to feel what its like to be like them, what it feels when nobody's around to talk to you, what it feels to be alone, what if God is beside you and you never tell any word, a grateful one, Lord thanks i'm still alive. If you feel you want the world to know you are there, talk to them and say hey guys, I'm here, want to share me some of your thoughts. Talking is an exercise in talking to God. Make it a habit to talk to someone, its less tension and pressure from work. It maybe healthy to share something that someone hears you, read your notes, apply them to themselves and it works. Its a blessing that you are around when a friend is in need of your help. thanks god it works for all the days of our lives, that we share how we love what God has given to us , still in operation and working, still in his direction that no man has been neglected to find his world to words for everything.
