hey mylotters!!! Anyone else here that got hit by Hurricane Ike?? I live in Houston, TX and I didn't have to evacuate, but I had already left town to Austin TX to take care of some legal things. Well, i had a Great vacation since I was told to not come back by city officials, plus, there was nothing to come back to because a Tornado hit my office building leaving work a no-go untill today. Also, a tree fell on my house, but it didn't damage it, it was just leaning there. But, still no power, and still having to boil water before drinking. Other than that though things are doing good! Hope everyone else is safe!

Thats great news. It must of been really craazy in a middle of a hurricane, oh god i dont know what i would do if that happened here in New York. I heard some stories that a catastrophic earthquake is due Here!!! They say by like 2016 a tsunami would hit the whole east coast!!! God forbid, God Forbid, God Forbid.

I JUST heard about that this past weekend! HOW CRAZY that you mention it now! I heard about that, and that the reason it's going to be so huge is because it's SO past due! But, geologists and scientists would probably be able to give people a good time to evacuate, so hopefully you guys will remain safe in the big apple!

Good to hear you survived the crises, and pray that everyone else recovers, I am still hearing things on the news about the after effects of Ike. People have lost a lot of valuables and a lot of life is lost. I am praying for a speedy recovery for everyone. You are one of the blessed. How is the rest of your family? Were they as lucky as you were?

My family actually came out luckier than me!! They already have their power back. My Aunts moved in with them because they won't be getting their power back for another two weeks from now it's been predicted. School hasn't started up again yet either, and the announcement of when it's back hasn't been said yet.

Wow, Good story to hear. I am glad to see that you are able to see the lighter side of this storm. We are in MI, so we dont have weather woes, just plenty other stuff. My family and I were watching the whole coverage on the storm and are very sad for the ones out there with no place to return to. I was saying to my husband that I hoped that it would just turn its course and not be so severe when it hits. So I was very happy to see that it was not as bad as predicted. Way to stay postitive and stay safe.

Righto! It was luckily only a category 2 storm when it hit, but it was also the STRONGEST category two ever, because if it were any stronger it would have been a category 3! Crazy isn't it? Thank you for your support!

I'm so happy you did and that you are coping with the aftermath. I live in Canada and we got just a bit of rain. Not much to talk about.
