I know it not to be a good reason, but maximum times I do this. I basically reply more in the discussions of mylotters who have many posts. I don't know why I do this. Might be their experience help them to developes their writing styles and they can also choose a attracting titles in their discussions. One thing wondered me, now I get more response than when I started first. Might be reason is I am developing!!
But that not means I don't reply in the discussions of new mylotters. Sometime new mylotters crossed all discussions by their creativity. So, new mylotters, if you don't get much response, don't worry, just keep on. One day you will defeat all by the number of getting responses. Happy day!

I reply to post topics that interest me and that's pretty much it! I do though make an effort to always check the discussions started by friends as well and will reply to their topics a lot of the time too. Some write many posts and some write very few but it still mainly comes down to personal interest for me.

I respond to anything that takes my fancy.
I used to only rspond to 'money' topics but a few months back I broadened my horizon and met some really intersting people who have rally high numbers.
When I respond though I often find I am discussing with the new users with less than 100 and I some times 'take them under my wing' and help them out a bit if I feel they have something interesting to contribute.
I can feel whether I am about to 'clash' with a user, be it high or low number, and in that case I steer clear to avoid trouble
In general the number of posts doesn't make any difference at all to me as long as some is either intersting or funny!
Have you realised that the more time passes the more you want to be here?
The first 800 posts are hard to make but then it just 'happens' and you keep going as if you were going downhill!
So keep at it because you're more than halfway there!
Happy posting!

Very simple....
when you are at 500, then 1000 seems a long way to go but when you rech 800 you're almost there and you get spurred on to reach it

It doesn't really concern me whether the topic creator has 1 or 10000 posts. I don't base my judgement to those figures just for me to reply to his or her topic. As long as he or she is a friend and his/her topic catches my interest then by no means, he or she will get a reply or comment from me. Just like what I am doing now. :)

I usually answer discussions started by members who have replied to my discussions. It doesn't really matter to me whether they are new members or experienced members. What's more important is the Content of their discussion. It must first capture my interest. I will also surf around my favorite Interests and see if there are any interesting discussions to reply to.

Happy to get your response! That means everyone to you discussion number is the factor. I also reply first which discussion attract me most. But in maximum cases I find it started by you or mysdianait or someone who have many posts. Also there are many exceptions made by new members.

Lately, I have found myself looking at the discussions that have no response. If I find one that interests me and I think I can make an intelligent response to it, I will reply to it. I never pay attention to how many posts anyone has; but you make a good point. The longer you are on here and the more posts you make, the more likely you are to improve your writing skills.

I don't respond to posts that already more than a few pages of posts, though there are very few exceptions. The number of posts the person made in the past has no bearing to my decision. If I think I can make a reply that has a little quality to it and not be just a pebble in a mountain of other drivel, I will do it -
- even if what I contribute is just another little bit of drivel

Unlike you, I am open to all kinds of discussions covering a wide spectrum of topics, and I don't zoom in on members who have a significant number of posts. It really depends on the topic discussed and whether I have anything positive to offer if I am contemplating on responding. Sometimes I will check out those discussions which have no responses, as they also deserve our attention. For me to respond to a discussion, it must catch my attention first, so it must be interesting to start with.

i usually post based on whether the article interests me or not as well, and if i think i have something applicable to say in regards to the original post. some articles on here i have no clue about what the person wants or what i want to say, so even if there are 50 replies or 5, i reply based on what i think i have to offer.

I don't really base my responses on the number of post a member has. If the topic appeals to me and the discussion is something I would like to join then I put in my two cents worth. Cheers!!

Hi there!
When I reply to discussions I do it randomly. I start from today's top, my interests, new and friend's started. I pick interesting topics from each one of them. I don't try to see if the topic is from a newbie or not. I just respond to a topic that I find interesting and I know I can share a lot.
Ciao!

To reply to the discussions which have been over responded is not genuine according to my way of thinking. Because the discussion have been over responded have been over discussed I think and feel. To me those materialistic discussions which have been there seeking response should be responded from the core of the heart. it will encourage the fresheners to come forward to to seek reaction on their view point.

I respond to any discussion I find interesting it does not matter how many posts they have. I will respond to someones posts who has 1 post as well as someone who has over 20000 posts as long as I find the discussion interesting to me. Have a nifty day and keep on mylotting.

i usually don't have any preference, what prompts me to respond is if i know something with the subject matter coz if i don't i won't be able to make a lengthy response and quality post. and every time i post, i always see to it that it's worth reading from the person who made such discussions and it has something in it that would matter in some way. second, i usually start making reply from what i got in my email notifications, first with the reply i had then to those who have new posts, then into my interests and some random post on the right side of every discussions that is somehow related.

Hi there, I'm replying to your post now so obviously I don't look at the number of post a mylotter has before replying right? I just reply to discussions which are interesting. I don't mind the bad grammar or lack of response. :) A lot of older mylotters post good discussions, but sometimes it's too lengthy to read! They copy and paste articles from online sources here that I get bored reading everything. :)

I never pay any attention to how many posts they have. I just post on discussions that catch my interest. The only time I do look at how many posts someone has is when they post something I think is really stupid. Then I look and usually see that they only have a couple of posts to their name. And I wonder if their even going to get better with time. lol In fact sometimes I see a really silly, pointless thread and it's by someone with a bunch of posts. Not to mention I will see them starting stupid discussion after stupid discussion back to back. So then I know that they are just trying to make money and probably aren't even doing a good job since they don't get any responses at all to their discussion.
