Would you wish to bring back the "myLot police?"

Hi everyone! Last year, when I was still active here at myLot, a group of members were tasked to become part of the myLot police. I believe it was voluntary. The objective was to remove all the violators. The main advantage was that violators were lessened because the said members were very vigilant. Discussions became more fruitful. The disadvantage was that many members started arguing and complaining about certain policies and certain members. Soon after, gone was the myLot police. What is your take on this?

The idea of "policing" yLot is anathema to me. I would leave the site immediately. Who's to say whether someone else's post is good enough or acceptable to an elite group? I'd give u favorite stop on the internet long before I'd give up freedom of thought and speech!

I believe that's one of the (if not the main) reason/s why myLot policing by a certain group of members was finally eliminated. The members who were on the opposite side of the fence felt deprived of their freedom to express themselves. Thanks for the response!

Looks like it was an experiment that caused more problems than it solved. I haven't noticed any problems as it stands. I would leave it to the administrators to decide what kind of a place they want.

They haven't really made such impact to me so I guess I would say that I won't mind either way. LOL! I think they were taken out because a lot of members may not be comfortable with the other members who police them. If some are not comfortable, they could just find a lot of things or comments to complain about. Bottomline, a lot may not have liked them.

why not? if it will help myLot to become more successful. but there must be guidelines to follow. there must be a voting process if a member or discussions must be removed. there must be a certain degree on how grave the violations was.
