How did the internet help you earn money?

I have just purchased my laptop this July so I was not able to work much on a blog. I created my own site then.
So far since I started in July, I have actually earned $350 from my site as I also advertised myself as a writer (or ghost writer) 
But I got that from WRITING not from the site itself - but I did get the job because of the site
My blog entries and other parts of the website are sparse because I am busy with the online jobs but I am not complaining because I even have my hands full of work to do and have to sleep at midnight each day and wake up at 5AM.
Plus, I have placed a tab for my published articles - yes, I have been published on the internet!
I also have links to other sites that helped me earn money, too. So I got referrals from there, too.

Wow, I wish I could earn as much money as you can online like you do. That is so impressive. It's good that you know to design a website. Creativity is not one of my good qualities unfortunately. I'm not too good in writing either. But maybe I just have my way to earn extra money but not as much as you earned.

I designed it from freewebs, actually. Oh, you can earn like I did. Just be patient and practice your skills, maybe in writing as that pays well these days.

yaar i think i need to take your help....
i know html and a bit of scripting... so i can manage to create my own site....
so i need help regarding the methods of earning and getting traffic to my site....
