The world's oldest man celebrated his 113th birthday on Thursday, telling reporters at his home in southern Japan about his joyful life and healthy appetite.Tanabe, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the oldest living male last year, eats mostly vegetables and believes the key to longevity is not drinking alcohol. I think I can do without alcohol. But meat and sweets and fried food? Erm...maybe I don't mind not reaching my 100th birthday! :)

haha, congratulations to him! I eat very similar to what he does, mostly vegetables, and then some fish and other seafood, mostly tuna, though I do not eat this stuff every day, maybe two or three times a week, everything else is veggies and other tasty things. I never eat land animals though, I used to two years ago I suppose, but I stopped because I wanted to challenge myself and see how long I could go. By weaning myself from meat I found that the thought of it became disgusting to me, and then to top it off I went down about twenty pounds in my weight, making myself ideal for my body type, so it works out for me and I am a lot healthier than before, I would not be surprised if I lived longer than him hehe, imagine having the capability to see your great great great grandchildren, though it could be a sad thing since you would probably see your own children die, and so many others in your family if you lived that long- that kind of grief would hold me back from living much longer.

Wow well that's really good! I'm proud of your willpower. I'm actually trying to stay meat-free now because it's really a healthier that way. Plus, I like challenging myself. I hope you live a good life! Be careful and stay healthy! :)

how cool is that? a man is 113 years old. to a lot of us that is a feat that seems almost impossible. i bet he still moves around all by himself too. nature gives you all the ingredients you need to live healthy, and this man is just putting it to practice. how awesome
