Is there any relation between cats and tigers?

Tiger is more ferocious animal but cat is calm animal. Why people say that cat is as look like a tiger.

The only thing Im curious about is that why cat is smaller? Too small in deed. Anyway, Both are gracefull and that is the character I really like about them. Surely, cat is cute but if you give your self a time to observe cats, they are as alert and as agile as their bigger bros. Look how they catch their prey, what do you see?

Yeah I know tigers are ferocious while cats are calm animals that would not hurt you, but cats and tigers are part of the same family,they are distant cousins in the feline family,and they are also related to the lion,panther and all the other cats in the world,just like dogs,coyotes,wolfs,foxes,and animals like that are all part of the canine family if I am not mistaken and it is kind of funny how many animals are related to each other.

that is because tiger is a cat too. they came from the same family the felidae or feline under genus panthera. tiger is said to bet he largest and most powerful of the four big cats.

Hi mylotter! The relationship between cat and tiger is that,they belong to the same family Falis(cat family).Cat belongs to domestic animal where as tiger and other big cats are wild.Thats the difference between them.Good luck to you.Happy mylotting

Think of it in terms of different breeds of dogs. A Husky is much bigger than a Shitzu but they're both dogs. Same sort of idea...
