It's 3am

During her campaign, Hillary ran an ad asking voters who was more equipped to handle that 3am emergency call. That call came to the do-nothing duo of Pelosi and Reid. The Democratic-controlled Congress, acknowledging that it isn't equipped to lead the way to a solution for the financial crisis and can't agree on a path to follow, is likely to just get out of the way. "Lawmakers say they are unlikely to take action before, or to delay, their planned adjournments -- Sept. 26 for the House of Representatives, a week later for the Senate. While they haven't ruled out returning after the Nov. 4 elections, they would rather wait until next year unless Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and Federal Reserve Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, who are leading efforts to contain the crisis, call for help." http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=washingtonstory&sid=aVPBaUbYV_qQ The first major situation of their useless leadership and what do they do? They do what many of expected them to do... slither off into the night, scared that they might actually have to make a decision. In other words, they let the machine answer the 3am call. Now, I don't think the government should meddle in much here, but there are things that Congress SHOULD be doing. First, all corporate assets of the companies should be seized. Second, the personal assets of all of the decision makers in the companies should be seized. State attorneys general and the FBI need to investigate everyone involved (both private citizens and elected officials). Yes Nancy and Harry, there are things you should be doing. It's about time you do you jobs instead of sit in your filthy diapers blaming Bush for your own corrupt, immoral, unethical and possibly criminal incompetence. And Obama is neck deep in the filth.

ParaTed,People like Pelosi, Reid, Biden and all of the "elite" Washington crowd are not problem solvers, they are part if not most of the problem! I don't know why it should surprise us that they would choose to do nothing instead of step up to the plate! After all, these people only know how to tax the rich not solve their problems! The sad part is this affects the people whom they say they are trying to protect more than it actually will affect the corporations involved!

I can't honestly believe anyone expected any different. What did they do as the energy situation was reaching a crescendo? Went on vacation. And now that an even larger issue looms, what do they do, pass it on and punch out for the season. What would happen to any of us if we did any of this at our own jobs? We'd be FIRED. Partisan affiliations aside, this is absolutely disgusting. I am starting to realize that there may not much chance for a non big boc candidate as president. but folks, I think we can honestly at least change congress by firing the whole lot and sending 3rd parties and independents in this November. Please folks, consider this much at least. there are very few incumbents who deserve to return and there are very few challengers who deserve a shot. Let this be known in history, as the year we as American's got tired of it all and finaly did something to change our government drastically. Let this be the year of the 3rd party and independent, let us restore the concept of the citizen legislature.

Give me a break ParaTed. They don't WANT to do anything. This is the best thing that could happen to the Obama campaign and they know it. Heck, they WANTED this type of disaster because they can now blame Bush for all of it. Everything bad that happens is just another opportunity for the democrats to hide and blame Bush. After blaming Bush for everything they can then continue to say that McCain is the same as Bush despite the fact that he made it clear he would be taking completely different actions than Bush has.
