Sometime ago I started a discussion about taking priorities in my life and eliminating a lot of sites I just plain never was involved with much. Sometime ago, I had eliminated all my PTC sites..I just plain wasn't getting anywhere with them and found them too time consuming. Then I started eliminating some of those social networking sites...same reason...but I was hesitant about eliminating....gasps....my profiles at Facebook and Yuwie...I found Facebook a drag...as I was getting a lot of weird spam from some of the so called clubs I belonged to..mainly trying to sell me things..and as for Yuwie...I hardly ever went there. So just now I deleted both. I kind of regret the Yuwie one as so many of my MyLot friends...some that are no longer here at MyLot are there...but I just didn't see the sense in keeping a profile that I hardly was active in...so....so long, goodbye, Auf Wiedersehen, Adieu...Yuwie is phewie anyway in my eyes...and may even eliminate another social networking spot as well...What can I say? If I'm going to spend time I'd rather spend it at MyLot... So to turn this into a discussion...did you ever eliminate something (or someone..LOL) cause it was counterproductive to what you wanted to do in life??...Maybe for taking to much of your time, not fulfilling your needs, was boring, dull, meaningless? Did you get a sense of Freedom without that extra "baggage"? Gee now I have an earworm for that Who's song...LOL

I keep considering doing the same thing actually, I have so many useless sites that I visit that are absolutely pointless. I have facebook and I keep debating to get rid of it, I mean I only go on it because I have this silly puppy thing that I have to look after! I have myspace that I do not even go on and various others, but like a lot of things in my life at the minute, I just have not got the time to get around to it!

Half the time I forget which sites I do belong to...LOL. And I could really stand to eliminate a lot of my bookmarked sites as well..don't ask how many of those I have...sheesh

I never really thought about it but now I realise I have always done that in my life. I delete/dump websites, people and things if they are no longer of any interest or use. It really does give me a sense of freedom as I now have room for new experiences.

Wow this is good timing b/c I'm currently working on eliminating my website! What happened was they screwed something up and now my photo gallery (which had 1000s of pictures) is not working and they can't figure it out. So I thought about it, there are so many sites that let you share photos or blogs for free, so why do I need to maintain my own website? It was cool b/c I could customize it, but it was a lot of work! Now I feel a sense of relief, as you do, b/c I've decided to eliminate it, save $120 a year, and rely on free sites to host my photos and blogs. I can't just delete it though, gotta move some stuff and download some files I saved there, but I won't be renewing it in October!

Yes, I have. I have given up on many sites. Slowly pulling myself away but keeping in touch with the friends I made. I at one time loved another site- and made many friends there. A lot of stuff happened there - owner up and leaving - new owner, etc. Different people came to the site-- which is the way it should be I know. A lot of dumb things were posted--- things I did not want to waste my time with- Of course not from my friends!!! but from some of the newer people. You could just tell they really didn't care what they talked about--- they were there to post as much as they could- for the money. Needless to say- I stopped going to the site--- spent my time elsewhere... found my way back to mylot for the social side of chat. I was talked about by the new owner... what a farce- I'm glad it's gone from my life! I never got into yuwie, facebook, or myspace. I just don't want that sort of thing in my life. Yes it's freedom! it's great! I love it!

Hi pye, Well I have never went to any other sites since I started using Mylot and with what I have been hearing from people I'm glad I didn't, Mylot keeps me busy any way and I like being here with all my friends and I don't need any other sites, I don't even have a facebook, I won't know what to do wit that. Bright Blessings Tamara

Yes I have. I eliminated a survey site I rarely fill out anymore . And I have stopped logging in to an old email address. It is good to keep what you use regularly. And it is freeing.

I find you get drawn into sites all the time that really mean nothing. I try to ditch them too but a lot of them just don't have the facility for taking you off their pages. You just have to learn to ignnore these and get on with the business of fun.

Hey pye! Now I have the earworm to! I'm free! Yes, as a matter of fact I have eliminated many pieces of "baggage". In fact, I've eliminated a whole friggen set of luggage and more! They weren't a matched set and I must match! Ok, to try to explain. I know that I have already mentioned this in umteen discussions already, but I shall now re-iterate for those who haven't had the pleasure or displeasure. I dumpt my "best friend" of 45 years and felt the most tremendous burden ever being lifted from my shoulders! She was draining to say the least. She was a selfish, self-centured, miserable, nasty b!tch! She never had anything nice to say about me only really evil things to put me down even though her life was in total shambles. Well, the day finally came when she pushed me so far that I almost beat the poop at of her! I mean almost physically kicked the dodo out of her! That's when I knew it had to be over and no turning back. No amount of crying, begging phone calls, emails would make me change my mind. It's been I don't know how long, but the phone calls have stopped, I have the eye closed when I'm online on AOL so she can't tell when I'm online (great feature-thanks AOL!). Do I miss her? Like a second A-hole! I have more pieces of luggage that I had to rid myself of, but I'll let others have their say. We do know that I am the wordy type. So now Pyewacket, sister twin, let's hit it..I'm Free.....

its always a good thing to do a bit of cleaning out of files, and that delete button can be quite freeing..(G)! but I had to come here after reading {{Opal's}} response: You have me just howling with laughter here...talking about your friend of 45 years. OMG! I've got family that I am just doing the same thing with, its a wonderful feeling to be rid of certain people you know? but I did enjoy reading your response to this Opal: WTG!!! WOOHOOO!
