well some times the topic of discussion is so prompting while at others the number of responses a discussion gets , or the person who has posted is important. what prompts you to respond to a particular discussion?

Well, that's simple. I just check out whether I have any ideas on the discussion which will enable me to write a full-length response to the particular discussion. And of course, if I'm feeling up to responding to any discussions at the moment, which I assure you I'm not up to most of these days. I have got quite a few things on my plate. As for responding to the discussions my friends started, I usually follow two criteria for that. One is of course, whether I have anything to say on the given topic. I don't usually write such responses saying "Hi, I don't have any idea what you're talking about, but just dropped by to say hi!". I've seen quite a few people here doing just that. Another thing which I check is whether the discussion has already got a substantial number of responses or not. If not, then I go in for responding to it. Otherwise, I don't get the motivation to add another response to an already-gigantic queue of responses! This rule also applies for other discussions, which means I never go in for responding to the top discussions. I usually go in for the new discussions. Not the new user ones, sometimes they are a little too repetitive. On a different note, juhi, I feel it's high time you got a proper aand nice profile pic for yourself. This green pic always gives the air of a newbie, which you are no longer. Cheers.

Hi, I would respond to any discussion that interests me, or that I have knowledge of. Some discussions attract a lot of responses, but if I am not able to contribute anything, I would most probably skip that!

It's always friends first and then interesting topics which are posted. That would be the order in which i respond to discussions. I really don't look at the number of responses the discussion has got before deciding to respond.

yes dear juhi i choose. i am rather selective. i can not and do not just respond any discussion . it should be among my interest and preferably started by my any friend here. i do not however disrespect the old or the new mylot associates but i select them and add them as my friends first!!

good question ! well, the discussions that prompt to respond are those that are interesting or familiar or shocking. and one more reason, out of politeness. i believe one good turn deserves another. if we are all busy at creating new discussions to earn more and ignore others' discussions, then we gain nothing. so we must support each other. that's a big teamwork.

hi dear gabbana welcome to my discussion and thanks for responding to it! yeah there is something unique in the question , definitely it will attract our attention, and once the attention is there we will be tempted to answer it!! and once you are able to generate some interest in the person it may develop some degree of affinity and respect for the person depending on his/her knowledge of the subject or the sftness with which the person responds. happy mylotting dear friend!!
