I am petrified with needle. So, every time i saw a person that has tattoo, I kind of feel the pain on needles that touches their skin. I really don't understand why they need to hurt them selves.
If happen you had one, why you do that? Perhaps your answer might widen my understanding about it. Thanks.

Being tattooed myself (and regretting most of them), I do not form a personal opinion about anyone based on their looks or how many tattoos they have. It seems to me that would be like judging someone because of the color of their skin.
As for the pain, some of the tattos I have really hurt to get and some of them were not painful at all. To some people, the short time they are in pain is worth the tattoo they get. Most people have valid reasons for the tattoos they get. We don't all run out and get one just so we can say we have a tattoo.
Some of my best friends are tattooed and pierce.......LOL

Many people aren't scared of needles at all and don't really think it hurts. For most people, it's not about "hurting yourself" it's about getting an image that means something to you, permanently imprinted on your body. It's a way of self-expression and individuality.
For some people, pain is pleasure. They love the feeling, it makes them feel good.

I don't have tattoo & i like to have it, a cross on my chest but i can't cos most people always had a wrong mind-set & opinion about it, i mean people with tattoo are usually regarded as a wayward person, hooligans, rowdy with repulsive behavior so i don't wanna make that impressions.
But nowdays people are changing as they are now regarded to be as an artistic work & even girls are having it too which was very rare in the past so i'm also thinking of having one...oops! my parents wouldn't allow me...lol...

I have always wanted one on my shoulder, something nice like a butterfly. But I know it has to hurt, then trying to take care of it so it don't get infected. So guess I was just chicken. One isn't bad, but I have a close friend that has a son, and he is covered with them, he also can't get a job because no one wants to hire him and have him meet their public looking like that. I would be scared if I met him on the street. He is a good kid. but has ruined his life. He also has hepititas C now because of the ink is now in his blood stream. My ex husband had a few on his arms and when he went somewhere he had to wear a long sleeve shirt. So I say one isn't bad but to cover your body with them is senseless. Women too I have seen with big ones down their arms, I think it looks nasty. But then that is my opinion only.

I agree with you bdugas, makes me scared specially the big one that can be notice easily. i feel that there is something wrong with the person for having tattoo. The side effect of it can cause you some illness. It is better not to have it than regret after wards. Thanks for sharing your comment. Happy mylotting.

Mine was spiritual actually. I actually had a dream of this tattoo so it has deep spirtual meaning for me. I sort of also used it as a rite of passage sort of thing. To see if I COULD take the pain. Life sometimes throws pain you way when you least expect it, either physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual, so willingly taking it on as choice, for me showed that I could take it. It was all part of my religious or spiritual rebirth. I hope that made some kind of sense.
I don't think any less of people who choose not to get a tattoo, for any reason, be it the pain or not liking to mark your body. We all have to choose our own way, and tatoos are pretty permant, so I don't think anyone should take it lightly. I've known too many druken sailors who have gotten tattoos and later regreted it. I have never regreted mine, and I know I never will.

Hi sabbatha, having a tattoo is a choices we make some may like it some does not. About having a tattoo for spiritual meaning, then it is good for you, as long you can benefit for your tattoo and you dont regrete for having it is a big plus factor of satisfaction. Thanks for sharing your comment. Happy mylotting.

It depends on how I see the person. I respect those who have tattoo because of their culture. There are people who have a high regards in terms of art, and that they express it to their body. There are those who are obviously just got nothing to do but mess around with their body. Those who mess around their body, I don't see any logical reason why they do such thing. Have their tattoo for masculine credibility? Why? You can't be man enough if you don't have one? Unless they can explain themselves for doing it, I would treat them with high regards.

It's their choice if they wanted to have a tattoo. same here. I am afraid of the needle, that is why I don't want to have one.

I don't know weather it is a good thing. U know what, I have watched prison break. The main actor called Michael had tatoo, which was really cool. However, when u became older and the skin would change, the tattoo may be a problem. Just look before u leap. If it is not bad to your health...

I dont have any personal opinions about people who get tattoos. I think the people who get tatoos are as different as the type of tatoos they can get. The only thing I would have to say about tatoos is that you might end up regretting them and you could not get rid of them easyily. They are pretty permanent.

Well I have absolutely no tatts at all, I am too much of a coward to even think of it. Well I have thought about it before, when I lost a lot of weight I did think that I might rather look nice with a tattoo across the bottom of my back. But then I thought about all the pain and changed my mind! Now my hubby on the other hand he is addicted to them, and I will put you a pic on so that you can see what I mean!!

I don't have a tattoo except but i had my eyebrows tattooed. My reason for doing so is for convenience so that I don't have to "draw" on my eyebrows everyday or shape them every now and then. Aside from that i will never dream of having a tattoo. For some tribes, tattoes are a way of life and also for beauty. The more tasttoes they have they believe they are more beautiful. or it can be evidence of coutrage or great deeds. However, for people who are not members of tribes but who have tattoes done on them, I really don't understand why they would suffer the pain of having the tatto put on them. Maybe they believe it makes them unique or maybe its a way of expressing rebellion or freedom from the usual norms aand rules of conduct. Whatever is the reason, I believe they have the right to decide and express themselves.

I am okay with tattoo. In fact I have a tattoo in my left neck along to my left back. I am not hurting myself, the same as when I got earrings in my ears, I am not hurting myself because for me it is an art. Oh yeah, for me, tattoo is an art, and that is why people who draw tattoo in people's body called as a tattoo artist.
I make a tattoo, because I like it. I dreamed about this since I was in junior high school. But people under 17 is not allowed to do this, and you have to get the parent's approval. Since my parents are conservative I waited until I am considered an adult and able to get tattoo by myself.

Always thought tatoos looked good on people well depending what design you have and where on the body you have it. I don't at present have any and know I would be straight down the tatooists if I didn't have a fear of the anticipated pain it causes. Have asked so many people about whether it hurts or not and the answer couldn't be more varied...many say it doesn't and others say they were in agaony all the way through. I have also heard that the the outline tends to hurt more than the colouring because by that time the area your having work done on has gone numb from all the pain...is there any truth in this?
Was originally going to get a dainty little rose on my shoulder a couple of years back but was put off by my dad saying from a distance it would look like a bird had messed itself on you from a great height...wasn't too impressed by this.
So just wondering what kind of designs do females tend to get and where do they have them done more importantly?
