I think chihuahuas are awesome dogs,and they make good pets because they are small which means they are low maintenance and they do not eat a lot because they have small bellies,I do not think they are just for preppy people even though to do see a lot of celebrities that have chihuahuas,my family has been a chihuahua family for as long as I can remember and we will always be,and chihuahuas are very loving and are very protective.

I agree they are awesome and don't eat a lot, but they are not low maintenance. Chihuahuas need a lot of care and attention. They get cold easily and need clothing to stay warm in the winter. They are also very fragile and people need to be careful they don't get hurt by accident.

No. I think chihuahuas are made for anyone that wants to have a companion around the house. Chihuahuas are very needy and lovable dogs and if you are the "needy" type, they are perfect for you. I have a 9 week old that loves to be loved and never wants to be out of your lap and that's perfect for me. Dogs aren't for show, they are for the person that fell in love with that particular dog, the people that have an interest in small breed dogs. Bella is my friend, my comfort and my little angel. I am far from preppy and wouldn't trade her for the world.

No I don't think that they are preppy at all, it's really odd that anyone would think so. My fiance and I, as well as his parents have chihuahua's. My mom has a chihuahua, and my aunts step daughter has one as well. They are animals. An animal does not mean that the owner is anything, preppy, silly, crazy... anything.
