A landlady I had once gave me a night's work in a hotel where she was helping out serving food to guests at a buffet dinner. After the dinner was over I got $ 100.00 and a large plate of the hotel's food. Have you ever done this ? Worked as a waiter or served food in a hotel ?

I loved waitressing! I only did it for about 6 months, but I made at least $90 an evening. Through the week that's pretty good for around here. I know that in larger areas, they make a lot more than that. It was a great job, of course, I'm really outgoing and I have a lot of fun interacting with people, so I loved it.

I actually was a waitress at CoCo's for about a year! I wasn't that good at it, but I did make good money ususally around $100 + a shift! I have never worked in a hotel just the restaurant!

I would make a terrible waitress! I have a hard time remembering a lot of detail for a long time and am not very coordinated when it comes to carrying several plates at once. I would drop half of the food on the way to the table and then mix up who got what plate. No tips for me! I make a great bartender though!

Hello Bluepatch. I admire you to have such a nice experience to work as a waiter. Sometimes I also want to give it a try, but no chance. So when we are having some meetings with other guests in our school meeting room, I would help serve them some tea when I see their tea getting lower of the glasses. I like to do it though.

I grew up around cafes, my mom was a waitress, both my sisters and I were waitresses. Actually, one of them still is. I think that we were all pretty good at it, although, I was not as outgoing as my mom and two sisters, I still made pretty good money waiting tables. I did this through high school. My daughter is now a waitress (they call themselves servers now) She is the lead trainer for the wait staff where she works. She has a great personality for this type of job, even though this is not what she wants to do for the rest of her life, and makes great money doing it.

Personally, no! But I have 2 daughters that were amazing waitresses. They made it fun for not only themselves and the ones they worked with, but also for the customers. She used to tell a story about a chicken and a ferret that were friends. The chicken crossed the road and got run over. She used a dish towel to show how the ferret carefully folded up his friend to take to the doctor. As she slowly unfolded the towel, the final result was the rubber looking chicken. She always got people laughing alot. That's probably why she made good tips.
