Why Do They Ask If You Are Hispanic Before Other Races In Surveys and on a different screen? i take a ton of surveys from a lot of different places and i have noticed that they ask if you are Hispanic on a screen before they take you to the screen to choose other races.. i dont have a problem with it but i just find it weird that one race would be asked first and separately.. are they low on Hispanic members or something? why isnt it just on the same screen like it used to always be? i cant remember which survey places are doing it the most since im a part of like 10 different ones but i am running into it so much its impossible to ignore.. any ideas?? like i said i dont have a problem but im just curious in why the extra question and screen..

Hmm... I have never encountered that in this part of the world. Maybe they are not able to code the survey in such a way to seperate the different sets of questions for Hispanic and non Hispanics. Maybe there are a set of different criteria for Hispanics over those that are not. To find out would be easy. Throw one of your surveys by answering yes to that question to see if the next screen would be different. I am sure that there are back buttons on most of the surveys that will allow you to change your answers before submitting. So try it out and see what is the difference.

yeah... please do. Then let us know the difference. Cos where I am from, I never have this problem. It would be interesting to know if there is any difference.

I've been trying to figure this out myself.Almost all surveys are doing this now.It doesn't make any sense.Maybe if we all start contacting the different survey sites and asking for their help in stopping this,it might help.Other than that, the only way to stop it is to boycott surveys and I make too much money with them to do that.Any ideas?

Hispanic is not a race. Whether you are hispanic or not is a question of ethnicity. The following are race: American Indian or Alaska Native Asian Native Hawaiian or othe Pacific Islander White Black or African American

You hit it!!!! I am so tired of filling that part out. I don't care if I tell them I am white. That's cool. What bothers the hell out of me is the fact that they ask me if I am hispanic speaking as if "I" am the one from another place or country. Does it matter if I am or not? What purpose does it serve to KNOW if I am hispanic or not? I guess I want to really know why it is there? Once we have said we are white or purple or green or whatever that should really be enough. The added question just pisses me OFF! smiles gently.... :)

it also makes me wonder if i chose it if it would limit me or if it makes any difference on qualifying at all.. the only thing i can think is maybe they need more Hispanics or maybe some how Hispanics were choosing something different that was more generalized instead of exact.. but that seems too silly to be a problem..
