I don't have kids but I have a lot of nephews and niece. what I heard from my sister is that each child has different first word. The elder one is mama and the the other one papa and the last one a ball. Now, that seems weird but i guess that makes them different.

It is really that you gave thought to something like this. My first son's word was Ma (though the sound was slightly different). My second son's sound was ummm...

My son's first word was "Daddy". I think it's got something to do with the fact that it's easier for a child to pronounce the "d" sound rather than the "m" sound. I know it thrilled my husband. :-)

hi newlands6801 hi again my sons first words were plerts, meaning pliers and mama, and hammer, no wonder he is a computer programmer, he started using pliers before he could walk, and a hammer. and my daughter's first words were pick baby up.My son at age 11 months took a screw driver and took apart his play pen,myh husband saw this and said oh great then he started to laugh and I had to come see what my boy was up to. the playpen was all apart and son was giggling and happy as a lark.
