Ever Hired a Virtual Assistant - Do you Guys think the concept makes sense

Hi Guys I recently came across an article which talks about the concept of virtual assistants. In a nutshell a virtual assistant manages all your tasks virtually over the internet. Do you think the concept will work? It sounds great but I would like an informed opinion from someone who has worked as a VA or has hired one.
