Has anyone had a chalazion before?

I have what I think is a chalzion on my eye. It's actually been there for quite some time, but just recently (within the last week) started acting up really bad. It's swollen and really starting to make a vision blurry on my right eye. From what I read, only 25% of these suckers cure with ointment or drops. I "accidently" googled and found a video of someone having one of these removed. Now I'm completely grossed out and petrified. UGH! I've been doing hot rags on my eye as much as I can, hoping that would help it, but I swear it seems like it's making it worse. It looks bigger now instead of smaller. I'm planning on going to a doc for it once I get my insurance cards, which I hope is soon because this is driving me nuts. I'm scared about what they will do, and hoping that just medicine will help it go away. I'd hate to have the surgury to get it out. If you've had one of these, how did you get rid of it?
