Cats and Cat People

Does anyone else here not like cats? Cats make me uncomfortable I feel like they might attack and scratch people at any moment. I also don't like the fact they climb on kitchen counters since it's really unhygienic. I also don't like the fact they go to the bathroom in litter boxes that are kept in the house, I mean come on why can't they do it outside like dogs. It's weird I also find that I don't get along with cat people even before I find out they have cats, they just have a completely different type of personality than dog people, does anyone else find this?

I guess you won't like me. I'm a cat person through and through. As has been said, cats can be trained to stay off the counter, just like dogs can be trained not to do things. My cats don't attack anyone nor do they scratch anyone. You are afraid of cats and that is very sad. Cleaning a litter box is no worse than changing a diaper, but I don't suppose you'd like that either. Probably don't want to have babies.

Well I have both cats and Dogs- so I wonder How you would perceive me? I don't think a cat will just attack for no reason. I would have more fear of a dog doing that. Cats can be trained just like any other animal, not to jump on counters.. My cats stay primarily in during the winter- but during the summer they are inand out all day long and they do use the outside just like the dogs. In fact my litterboxes don't get used much in the summer! I don't think I have noticed a differnce really between cat and dog people but then Again- I will talk to either. hell I would rather talk to any animal lovers. It's the people that hate pets that I don't like.. there is something seriously wrong there! lol

I am now a cat person, until four years ago I didn't like cats at all. And when we first got our first cat from the RSPCA I said that I wasn't going to have much to do with it, took me over six months to pick him up!! I had this fear because my mum hated cats and I was never in close contact with cats. Love my cat and kitten to pieces, they are my babies

I am allergic to cats, so I don't like being around them for very long. I don't have any other problems with them, though. I think a lot of cat people like having the cat go to the bathroom inside because they say it's easy for them to clean. I do think that some cat people have different personalities than dog people, but not all.

Cats have different personalities and really cannot be lumped into one type or another. I had a cat when I was young that got on the counter one time in his seventeen years and that was to kill a mouse. He didn't steal food, was not aloof or stand-offish and, in fact, displayed very dog like behavior by following me everywhere I went and begging for attention. I now have two cats who, while they certainly don't behave his well behaved demeanor, are quite affectionate, very clean (they use the potty in a half bath) and don't run around biting or scratching anyone. It's actually been our two dogs who have dealt out the most injuries (accidently). And while you worry about the unsanitary conditions created by a cat who walks on the counter remember that Fido can get up there, too. And God knows what he's been walking on outside.

I've only ever had westies so they have small legs and definitely couldn't make it to the counter.

You may have only owned westies but I can tell you that a well placed chair or box is all they need to reach the counter. My sister has one that is quite the acrobat.
