I have been tired for about a month now. Along with being tired I get these headaches. I get about 7 hours of sleep at night, but this is the same amount of sleep I have had since I had kids and I am just tired now. I don’t want to depend on caffiene to get me through the day. Are there any vitamins I could be missing that might cause this? Are there any vitamins I could try that might help me?

Have you noticed any weight gain? Are you cold a lot? It could be your thyroid. When I was younger, I felt tired ALL the time suddenly. I had no energy. I went to the doctor, which I suggest you do, to be sure I wasn't anemic or something and we discovered that my thyroid was underactive. On the right dose of thyroid hormones, I woke up, felt better, lost the 10 pounds I had slowly gained, and just felt like myself again. We have since raised the dose a few times and every time I get really tired and start dragging, I go for a test to be sure it isn't my thyroid. It usually is. However, you could be anemic or even coming down with a bad cold or other virus that starts out sapping you of your energy. I definitely would see a doctor to have some blood taken to be sure you aren't iron deficient or that you don't have an underactive thyroid. If all comes back fine, you could try exercising. It sounds nuts because you're tired but if you force yourself to exercise for even 15 minutes a day, it really does eventually help with general tiredness or lack of energy. I wouldn't try to self diagnose though. If you feel different than you once did, it calls for a visit to the doctor, in my opinion. Good luck. I have been there many times and I hated being so tired and lacking energy so badly.

I had my thyroid tested in the past and it was fine. I have not had it tested for about 5 years though. I just want to make sure I am doing all I can to fix it before I go to the doctors. I can do a lot with the money I would need to pay him just to see him, Id like to make sure I really need to go first.

I understand. You could try a multi vitamin with iron and an iodine supplement. If your thyroid is a bit sluggish, the iodine will help it greatly. That was verified recently and iodine is not dangerous (although no one should mega dose on anything). I always take a hot bubble bath and go to bed early and see if maybe I just needed to destress when I get this way. I DO get this way very couple of months and it lasts for sometimes a month. I am dragging on the ground. Then it goes away as fast as it came and I feel OK again. No doctor needed because he doesn't have a clue why it happens. I may just go go go go and then burn out and need to recharge. Maybe with vitamins and a recharge day every once in a while, you'll feel better. I sure hope so. I hate when I am dragging and sucking on caffeine just to get through the day.

Some times one may feel tired if one is depressed, stressed or too bored with ones monotonus schedule. I used to feel tired everyday for almost 3 or 4 months. I was unable to understand the reason. You may also try doing yoga or exercise regularly. That may help you. I took a different approach and that helped me. But may be its not suitable for everybody. I would wake up in the morning and the first thing I would do is take a bath and meditate on God and chant his name as well as read spiritual books. It helped me boost my energy about 80%. I used to feel happy and relaxed whole day. Now I do not feel tired any more. But I remember those days and after getting up from sleep I used to feel I should go to sleep again. I was not physically tired but actually mentally tired.

I am always stressed. I am a stay at home mom and running a home is stressful. I have tried yoga in the past but I quit doing it regularly when life got chaotic. I really should start it back up. I know I would feel better.

I get tired like that, too. My doctor has told me to take iron supplements as I'm anemic and low iron will cause that. You could just try taking a multi vitamin. Or ask a doctor about it.

Ive been taking kids vitamins each morning with the children. I wonder if an adult multi vitamin would do the trick. Now it seems obvious but I never thought of it before. Thank you for the eye opener. I will start tomorrow.
