They simply lack consistency. At first you get to enjoy it, but as time goes they become boring to watch.

You know how this happens? Let me tell you. I work in on of the Ka's, I won't tell you which one. :-) Our TV shows lack consistency because content is controlled by the ratings. How? Before a TV show is produced, for example a sitcom or a drama series, the networks generally have an idea of how it will run and how it will end. But as the show is running and the ratings are dipping, they tend to change midway, adding another character for example to spice up the ratings. On the other hand, if the show is doing well, despite the storyline dictating that the show must come to an end, networks stretch the story to make it stay on the air longer, thus, the show becomes dragging and the story becomes corny. You see, in both cases, whether the show has high or low ratings, it becomes inconsistent because the original storyline is not followed. Unlike series in the US, for example, they are very consistent because they "can" their programs, finishing all episodes for a season before it airs. So, no matter what the ratings are, the story plan stays, making the shows consistent. I could only hope for the same thing for Philippine TV shows.

Yea. Shows here are very dependent on the numbers(ratings) they get, not on the kind of show that they'll be airing.

It really depends on how you will see it my friend. although you will say that all TV shows, may it be prime time series, showbis chika or news have almost the same topic, but it is the reality of life, we go on everyday facing the very same problem each of us have. So you can see in the television show, there is always the good thing versus evil conflict. the rags to riches, the api apihan, the very lucky ones, the evil ones getting away with everything they do. they reflect the dreams, the frustration of every Filipino. I guess you just have to widen your perspective with the shows. if not, then just enjoy making fun of it, like me and hubby do.

I never got a chance to enjoy these even at first sight. If you are talking sitcoms and stuff, the special effects and quality presentation as a whole is terrible. I don't see how any director or person in charge would approve such mediocre quality. And those game shows aren't getting any better either. It is shameful that people profit off of others that are being embarassed and ridiculed without them realizing it in silly game shows.

Personally, I think a lot of them, soap operas in particular, get boring because they don't lack consistency. After a while, they get way to predictable. You can miss months of episodes and get caught back up in no time.
