do you turn off your computer?

i actually don't turn off my laptop, i just put it in sleep mode so that the next time i use it, it will be available on the spot. I actually put my laptop to sleep because i just close the cover and the default action whenever i close the cover is to sleep the system.
how about you, do you put your computer to sleep or turn if off?

me too. I generally dont turn off my computer. I have a desktop and at night i watch a movie and while watching I sleep. so it will be on whole night. I turn off my computer only when I went to classes.

Yes, I usually turn off the computer when I am not using it to cut down on my electricity bill. I know that the CPU doesn't consume much of power but still I prefer to shut it down completely. I do keep it running if there's a virus scan or other scheduled activity going on. I also have a habit of listening to music by switching off the monitor and letting the CPU play the songs. Infact the monitor is the biggest consumer of electricity, so switching it off is always recommended.

I always turn off my pc and laptop when go out or sleep coz I think that will less hurt to the cpu of computer and save some bit electric bill.lol.However,I heard that shut down the computer will hurt the cpu due to the suddent high voltage at the moment of turning down,I prefer to pass this saying~~lol

I normally turn off my laptop. My laptop can get pretty hot even in sleep mode. Also, I hate it when it takes even quite a long time to load from sleep, especially in windows. Mac on the other hand, recover quite quickly from sleep. However, do turn off your computer once in a while, since restarting/turning off your computer actually 'refresh' it, making it faster and more healthy in the long run.
