I have seen so many people say watching t.v. causes the crime rate to increase. These things cause children to join gangs and engage in things against the law. I don't get this I watched many violent t.v. shows and movies as a kid and never took a gun to school, witch we always had in the closet. I never set a bomb in school or threatened someone, I didn't even get in a fist fight.

You were exception to the rule . When they say that watching violent shows on tv or playing violent vidoe games they do not mean this will do this to everyone but it will leave an impression on some children that life is forever and that they are invincible and they can do what they want with no consequences . My son used to play the playstation when he was younger and started hitting and kicking everyone . When I asked him the reason he said because he wanted to . So I started watching what he was doing during the day and noticed that what he watched on t.v , the games he was playing and even the way the men that came in the house were treating him was all teaching him that violence was acceptable and a part of the norm . I took the play station away from him , refused to allow him to watch anything on tv that would have a bad influence and told the men that came in the house to stop wrestling with him and noticed a huge change in him . He is much older now and will say that the games did affect how he was feeling and seeing it on tv all the time did make him feel like he was invinciable and this was the way to show others how strong he was . So yes I do belive this affects the crime rate . Every where you look today there is violence going on . If you turn on your tv you will see that even many of the cartoons are teaching violence . Men seem to think that they have to wrestle with a little boy to make him grow up and be tough , video games are getting more and mroe violent and they will sell them to anyone . Young children are impressionable and though it will not affect all , it will affect many that will feel this is what they have to do to survive in the world and see no wrong in what they are doing because they see it everywhere else .

I understand that, this is how I see it though. If you teach your kids this is not real it's only a show or game, and they aren't to copy it. Won't they listen and not do it. that's how I was raised. I never go into fights and my children don't either. They know it's fake. I think saying T.V. shows and games are the result of violence is an excuse. If you know or your children know whats right and wrong then it shouldn't make a difference.
