Do you agree with the pairings in the epilogue?

So, I loved the 7th book until I got to the epilogue. I think Ron/Hermione was accurate, but Harry/Ginny? I just can't see it happening. I think she's just to plain a person for Harry. In my personal opinion, the perfect person for Harry would have been Draco. I knew J.K. wouldn't do it, but it's perfect if you think about it. They had such an intense relationship, even if it was a negative one. Anyway, what do you think? Do you agree with the Harry/Ginny and Ron/Hermione? If not, who do you think it should have been?

Hey I think that Hermione and Ron are perfect for each other. It was clear since the beggining that they loved each other. But Harry and Ginny don't match. He deserves much more. I think she should have been paired with Neville and Harry could have been with Luna. She is a strange but I think they would make a cute couple. What do you think?

Yeah I don't know what J.K.Rowling was thinking about when she decided to pair Harry and Ginny. That's a bad decision of her but that's the way it is...

Actually, yes, Harry and Luna would have been great! I didn't get that from the books so much as the OOTP movie. The thing with Harry and Ginny is it made Harry's life pretty much a carbon copy of his parents' life, except he lived longer and had more kids (so he could name them after all the important people in his life.) Ginny even looks like Lily, and she's his best friend's sister, it's all a little too quaint.

I have to say it was a little bit of a shark jump for me when Rowling did that.

I agree about Harry being a bachelor - I always saw him as turning out like Dumbledore, the unmarried teacher eventual Headmaster. I wanted Ron and Hermione together ever since it became apparent early on that they were going in that direction. As for Ginny, in the beginning I felt sorry for her and hated when Cho Chang showed up and Harry went ga-ga over her. But then, in The Order of the Phoenix out of nowhere Ginny became most popular girl in school with all the boyfriends. How did that happen? Then the whole thing with Harry and Cho fell apart for no particular reason, and then, he finally starts noticing Ginny now that other boys have noticed her. It was almost like he only wanted her when somebody else had her. I would have liked it much better if she had stayed the same shy girl and he ended up liking her for who she was. Actually I thought Ginny should have ended up with Neville.

OMG. I totally agree bout the Neville?Ginny idea. I think they would have made a much more realistic couple.

Oh completely, but Rowling didn't want to do that now did she!

i really love harry potter but actually for me the pairing in the end is..ugh..i dont know..for me ron and hermione is just okay because in the beginning of the story they are friends and in the end they turned to lovers..there is a flow in their pairing..but for harry and ginny..i cant tell..because they had little time with each other..for me cho is good pair with harry or maybe it can be hermione..

Think I agree with you. The Ron/Hermione thing had been building up since the beginning, but I didn't think enough effort was put into crafting Ginny's character. She seemed to suddenly go from uninteresting little sister to this amazing person that all the boys were in love with. Not sure who I think Harry should have ended up with instead - maybe he should have just stayed a batchelor.

Exactly. The reason I like H/D is because so much was put into their interactions from the beginning. Same with Ron/Hermione. Maybe if they would done it from the beginning, I would have been more receptive, but first she was just a girl with a crush, then she got over him when he liked her, then they were together, then they weren't, and all of a sudden they're married? I think being a bachelor would suit Harry.

I personally think that the whole Harry Ginny thing was a little forced. I saw no romance between them. Then again, the chemistry was always between Draco and Harry.

it must not have been harry/ginny

it must have been harry/luna

I wasn't too sure about the Harry/Ginny pairing myself, but I think when the movie come out the chemistry will be much more believable on screen than reading it in the book. Harry and Ginny should definitely have some good chemistry on screen since they are dating in real life.
