Mario vs. Sonic

I know its been a battle going on for a while but personally who is you favorite Mario or Sonic.These two game behemoths have bee around forever,and both changed the gaming industry in their own unique way.Even though Mario as now outlasted sonic.
I personally chose Sonic because i love his ongoing battle with more then one guy at a time.whether it be Rebotnic and Knuckles or,Rebotnic and Metal Sonic.I also liked how the background changed so much in the original.
So tell me who you prefer and why.
I know there as probably been other versions of this but i didn't steal this topic

Yeah, I think there's no topic like this at all. Anyways to simply put it, Sonic is like Sega's Mario, and Mario is of course Nintendo's Sonic(vice versa huh?). So...hmm...I never really liked Sega...heehee kidding. It's Mario for me, because even though both of those games evolve drastically from their ancestor games, I still opt for that kind of platforming game that Mario offers. Plus there are more variety of games that the Mario series offers. The thing is that, they...deviate, and I don't get tired of seeing that mustache-filled face over and over again. Sonic is just...Sonic. But then I love playing Sonic games. It's just that Mario gives me that fulfilling feeling as a gamer more than a Sonic game does.

It's definetely Mario for me. I've never really liked or even vaguely enjoyed playing Sonic games. I love nearly all Mario games, and Sonic doesn't come even close to comparing Mario, in my opinion.

Mario is definitely more popular now, after the release of Super Mario Galaxy. Mario platformer games are simply much more entertaining to play than Sonic. Sonic is faster paced, but it's more about quality rather than speed. The character depths of each of these stories vary from game to game, however I believe Mario takes the cake seeing how Mario has expanded over so many genres over the years.

well as big of a nintendo fan i am im going to go with sonic because i was always a sega fan and my favorite game of all time is sonic 3 and kunckles

I would vote for Mario. Mario is far more popular than Sonic now. With the decline of Sega, Sonic had already lost a lot of attention. Game-wise, Mario games are so popular than it's in many genres. I can say it's the mascot of video games. Personally I do not like Sonic games much due to the fast pace. I love enjoying the game graphics when playing but Sonic games do not allow me to do it as I cannot catch the speed at all.
