I got caught talking to myself today..

Do you ever get caught talking to yourself? There I was driving down the road, thinking, thinking, thinking, then I sorta waved one hand in the air and said to myself "where the heck am I?" (I used the word heck, really I did).. just as I was driving by some guy on his lawnmower. Boy did he give me a weird look.. as I was in the vehicle all by myself.. Do you talk to yourself sometimes? I comforted myself with the thought, well how's he know I don't have one of those earpiece phones?

I talk to myself more and more everyday. After 15 months of being a stay at home mom I talk to myself all the time. I could use the excuse that my son needs to hear conversation to learn to speak, but I think its probably that I just miss the social interaction. Talking keeps me sane. Luckily I'm always carrying him around, so hopefully no one knows that I'm actually talking to myself.

My mom said she used to do that when she stayed at home with my sister and I while we were young. She said after a while she so wanted an adult to talk to. And not just about baby stuff, but real adult conversation. You have a very important job. I just hope your kids realize when they are older what a wonderful thing you did for them. : )

I've had that happen to me once or twice. I stuck out my tongue and made a pooottt noise at the man from the bank when he told me they had signed me up for services I didn't want (without my permission) and then charged me for them. I was so embarrassed!

I talk to myself all the time. It's really no big deal at all. Sometimes it's actually a good way to keep myself focused on what I have to do. It is also fun to do it in public to make people think you are crazy.

When I was a kid, My dad used to say "talking to yourself is the first sign of insanity". Then as I got older and began to talk to myself. LOL I changed that saying to "It is ok as long as you don't answer yourself". Now I am ready to change it again.LOL

Sometimes I talk outloud to myself. I usually only do that if I am really upset about something or if I'm really ticked off about something. Otherwise, if people see me 'talking' in my car I'm usually singing along to the radio or something. Now, I think I've spotted crazy people talking to themselves all the time when in reality, they have those cellphone head piece things. Those things drive me crazy because I never know what exactly is going on. I never know if I'm being talked to, if they're talking to themselves or if they are on the phone. If people are talking to themselves in their cars, I usually just assume they're talking on their phones or singing along with the radio.

Yes, and a lot of times I'm talking to myself near someone else. I'll be thinking something to myself, and then I voice a thought aloud. And the person I'm with will be like, what? And then I have to apologize because I was talking to myself, not to them. I can really confuse a person.

Good day.... I know it's kinda weird but yes I often talk to myself and often I've got caught doing it. Maybe it's kind of weird to some but I found it to be therapeutic and well releasing. It's like a pre-play for me before actually talking to that person in mind.

Oh flowerchilde, you just joined the 'elite' group. I do this all the time. I will be driving down the road and say, 'you crazy thing. Why are you going this way?' I always have my windows up, so I don't worry about anyone hearing me. But I often laugh at myself when I do such crazy things! I am always talking to myself in the house when I go to get something and forget what I've gone after. It's 'now where did I put that?' or 'what was I going after?'. I think we all do it at some point in our life. Or, at least, I like to comfort myself with the thought.

Well, I think it's personally normal talking like that to yourself. I mean as long as your not discussing a huge story to yourself, I think it's perfectly alright. I've done that a couple of times but I've never got caught haha. Sometimes short sentences just come out.

hi dear flowerchilde perhaps it is the combined result of the age factor and the little tension about some thing which was on your mind! i am sure you need not take it that seriously. it is the degree of involvement in our thoughts . just settle down and solve the issue!! the things will clear out on their own! good luck!!

I was headed to the hospital where my daughter was in labor (and had a baby today). I had to tell you how your number 55 in your name, and your count right now is 555 posts.. and baby was born at exactly 5 o'clock which was weird enough because there's always fives around me, beginning with my birth date of 5/5/55.. And now it's 11:55 and I'm goin' to bed (no not really! it's not 11:55, but I do often wake up at 5:55 in the morning..) Maybe it's things like these that turn the wheels in my head to buzzin round..

The next time you see someone talking to their self just tell yourself they are probably praying. Some times it probably looks like I do a lot of praying. :-)

One time years ago, I was riding to church with some friends and we were praying on the way, and the driver said "wait a minute, I better open my eyes for this one.."

I do that as well especially when I am driving I would talk to myself while i am driving due to these reasons. The first one would be that I am stuck in traffic where things are not moving. I would just engage myself in a conversation so that I could kill time. It is cheaper than calling someone else over the phone. The other time that I would talk to myself while I am driving is when I am feeling sleepy behind the steering wheel. So, again, by talking to myself I can avoid from falling completely asleep. That may sound weird to some people but I would definitely keep on doing that as it helps me to stay awake. As far as people are concerned, yes, I had been stared at many times for talking to myself but I think they are staring not because I was talking to myself but was more about trying to figure out what was I talking about so intensely at times. Most of them would think that I was on the phone (hands free) with someone and I was having a quarrel or something. LOL!
