I do love the cd's but i hear so much criticism about their live playing, and it's annoying that every 13 year old claims to be a fan just because they played them on guitar hero. Your Thoughts?

I personally went through a phase where i enjoyed them (not influenced in any way by guitar hero) but now i despise them. I have seen them live and let me say they do not live up to expectations. Herman li acts so tough but then messes up all the solos for every song. Most of their "amazing" playing is studio editing. I personally dont like them, but i wont make fun of anybody who does.

Yes, i generally was impressed by what i thought was amazing speed and playing from them. However, it appears to me that they are a bunch of extra hype. Also, even if he can play that fast, speed isnt everything in music. I mean, Michael Angelo Batio can play dual guitars with both hands at once faster than Herman can play one. But does that make him a great musician? I dont think it does, perhaps it makes him a good guitar playe, but not a good musician. Thats my 2 cents

Herman Li usually performs drunk, that may become a problem sometime in the future, as for vocals, listen to the song Revolution Deathsquad and try to listen for the bassist's vocals. They are very deep and raspy. Sounded great IMO

Well I stated again to listen to their music and I don't really care!Music is music that's all I need. Yes sometime their style can be childish [you can clearly notice that in their videos] but that doesn't bother me too much. Still many people don't understand the metal and meanings of music in general...And yes teens and do some headaches sometimes..but what the hell... Just listen to the music !! :)

Agree with you 100%! ! ! Dragonforce are an awesome band Guitar Hero may have gotten them famous but also gave 'em a bad name too, because of the little 13 year old guitar hero nerds. I saw 'em last night what everyone says about them aint true they can play their own stuff awesome, I got 2 picks from that concert it was amazing, so were Turisas. Dragonforce rules. Though Herman li though probably is a nice guy seems a bit too cocky. Rock ON! ! ! !

No doubt they are talented and Herman Li is a self tought guitarist. But most of their stuff IS sped up in the studio

I would consider myself a big fan of Dragonforce, i enjoy listening to them and see them whenever I can if they come to the UK. I found out about them from hours of fruitless searching on the internet whilst looking for new bands and they were great, it was what I had been looking for, the ultra fast drums, the complex guitar solos and amazing harmonies and the awesome voice that I think fits perfectly with the music. when I went to see them live for the first time i heard many people mention that they hoped they would be better than last time they played, which gave me the impression that they would be a letdown live, but when i saw them it was just as good as I expected it to be. so in other words I love Dragonforce both live and on CD P.S. Through The Fire And The Flames was only on guitar hero because the producers for Dragonforce slipped it in, Dragonforce had no say in the matter.

whio said what now? 13 year olds think they are fans just cuz they played it on GH (Guitar Hero)? OMG, those kids must have be mentally ill or they have a mental disorder. anywayz yeah dragonfore is awesome, but not as good as Metallica, metallica are like the gods of heavy metal.
