I used to always fill my jacket/baked potato with cheddar cheese and coleslaw or cheese and baked beans or tuna and mayonnaise but hold the sweetcorn. These days though I go for something a little more up market! I love to have my jacket spud with mashed corned beef with mayonnaisse in it. It really is lovely, you should try it! I think it might be time for a change though and maybe a healthier option. What do you guys fill your jackets with?

Ewwwww corned beef that is horrible stuff! Sorry! I fill my jacket with grated cheese and coleslaw, yum! I haven't had one for ages, probably because they take so damn long in the oven! I refuse to use the microwave because they don't taste the same, the best bit of a jacket for me is the skin! I much prefer the crispy skin to the fluffy potato inside, I know I am strange but I'd much rather leave the middle and eat the outside which is the best part and the roughage!

Hi there wolfie34 Each to their own I guess. I am like you though, I hate microwaved potatoes I would rather not bother. Definatly the outside it better and in America you can actually order potato skins with various toppings though usually sour cream so you would be happy as a pig in doodah their wouldn't you? Cheers

I absolutely love spuds, my favourites include cheese and baked beans (with a bit of chilli sauce added), cottage cheese and beans and cheese and sweetcorn!

Hi Humbug, I had a jacket potatoe for tea last night and I filled with cheese and ham and had a side salad with it. I like to fill with prawns if I have some or if I have any curry of beef stew left over from a previous meal I will load it with that. Huggles. Ellie :D

Good morning Bumhug, yes I love jacket potatoes, they are nutricious and filling and very versatile, there are many fillings for them, the list is endless.I see you like mashed corned beef and mayonnais, sounds good to me.But I am a cheddar cheese woman here, and some sliced onion, raw onion, and some coleslaw,it slips down a treat!they are good value in the restaurants too, most supermarket outlets have them on at lunchtime and they are served with a side salad,a good nourishing meal.

Hi there garnet666 Yes corned beef and mayo, try it, it's good! I love cheese too but only have it when I feel like it on my jacket. I too love raw onion and it goes very well with cheese! Cheers

Well when we have baked potatoes we normally have what I call a baked potatoe party, which meeans I put a bit of everything on the table and everyone chooses what they want. So we have tuna/sweetcorn, chopped egg, grated cheese, cold meat, normal salad stuff. I put mayo on the table and every one adds it if they want to. I don't always have mayo and 10 year old son isn't always that keen keen on mayo. But on saying that tonight we need quite a quick tea without much washing up as we have footy training, and I want to try and do the ironing before we go out!!! So we are having baked potatoes, brolli and beefburgers with cheese sauce. Brought two many burgers for bar b q's and they are taking up space in the freezer and we don't normally eat that many so I am trying to use them up. Last week I cooked some burgers in the oven with rich gravey and onions to jazz them up a bit.

Hi there Anne18 I think we all have too much bbq stuff in our freezers at the moment due to the bad summer weather!! Beefburgers and gravy huh? Mmmm that sounds nice, might do that as an alterntive to roasted meat but still have all the veg and roast pots, mmmm. Thanks

Normally do something usual like spicy baked beans with grated cheese and onion for an extra kick. Tried it with a chilli once was very tasty. As you can probably tell i'm a bit of a spicy food fan.

THat's a very interesting concept! I think I would like to try something like that! I am not a big fan of corned beef but coleslaw...or cheddar cheese...sounds very interesting!
