Dear mayank, Yes, you need to clear the exams conducted by AMFI to get a ARN. ARN means Amfi Registration Number. Only after you get this number, you are allowed to empanel with Mutual fund Houses. After that you can start distributing the mutual fund products. But, my advise, forget it. Do not become mutual Fund distributor. There is no money to be made here. With the recent SEBI order banning Entry Load, the charm of Mutual Fund Business is down and out. Better become an IRDA certified Insurance distributor. you will earn easily 40% commission on sale of each ULIP Insurance product. Also, in India, investors are fools. They are ready to pay 40% commission to Ulip rather than 2% commission to MutualFund agents. Shocking, sad, but a FACT. Regards, Srikanth
