I'm not against gay marriage, so I'm not going to give you a list of reasons here...but I would like you do give me a list of reasons... Reasons you either believe, or reasons you have heard of, either is fine. If you have no problem with gay marriage, giving me the reason against it, and the reasons you think that arguement is rubbish would be great also. I'm not interested in debating it with you, I just want to hear reasons. Thanks x

One of my favorite reasons against it is the argument that gays already have the right to marry. Of course, they can't marry a member of the same gender, but neither can homosexuals, so all is fair. Of course, anyone who knows anything about the history of civil rights can tell you just how silly this argument is. It was used decades ago against allowing interracial marriages. The courts saw it as the meritless argument it was and threw it out as such. Interracial marriage won the day, despite how many people felt it was giving interracial couples special rights. The same can be applied to gay marriage. Women are allowed marry men, and vice versa, but never are men allowed to marry men, nor are women allowed to marry women. It's gender discrimination, no matter how you look at it.

Most people against gay marriages are against homosexuality and believe that allowing homosexuals to get married condones homosexuality. Whether or not homosexuals are allowed to get married will not change the fact that they are homosexual. So why not allow them to live their lives in peace and be happy?
