I think I did experience once when I was a child but the task is very hard and I am still very little then. In my province we use woods for cooking, and so my grand father would go on chopping woods, out of curiosity I tried doing it, but I guess it only took two or three chopping for me to give up.

We used to, but now we have a gas fireplace, I believe. At the old house, we would chop up the trees that fell after hurricanes, and use that as firewood in the winter IF it got cold enough. I am not really sure what we would do if we obtained firewood now. I think last time, we changed it into mulch, or gave it away.

We have a wood ring that is about 4 feet in diameter that is so crammed full of wood there is actually some on the ground next to it. We have a fireplace up in the living room that rarely gets used and a wood burning stove in the basement that gets used fairly often in the winter time.
