Funny Old Sayings

Do you have any funny old sayings...You know like "Sing at the Table you'll cry before you go to bed" or "Waste makes want" or "No board is so flat that it doesn't have two sides"...My kids think I'm crazy because I am always coming off with old sayings that they never heard of. Passed down from generations and I'm sure some are ones they made up themslves but share some of yours with me. I want a lot of ammunition for my kids! LoL

Sayings like, "Children are to be seen and not heard?" Yeah, those all sound like things my mean grandmother would say. I honestly can't think of anymore other than the one that I just mentioned.

I'm sorry that you had a mean grandmother. I no longer have mine but she sure had a lot of old sayings and things she did that I remember and that and I would like to pass on to my kids. She never salted a dish (she was a great cook) without throwing some over her shoulder for luck.
