So My internship didn't go as planned

So today was my first day at my internship and it didn't go as planned at all. I arrived there thirty minutes early because I always like to arrive early if I have to go somewhere. So I got there and then I am waiting out in the hallway in these really cute couches for my boss to arrive. He arrives at 10:00 and then I'm waiting there. And then finally this guy comes to me and asks me if I'm the new intern and I tell him yes. So then he says that my boss won't be coming in today because he was sick. So when I heard that I was kind of sad because I was really looking forward to start today. But then I thought to myself that I could come home and do my work because I have a lot of work to do this week. So I'm taking the train to go back home when I get on the wrong train which is kind of crazy because when I saw the train coming I saw that it said the number four train. So I didn't notice and I'm just sitting there reading my magazine and then all of a sudden I see that it's headed towards my high school stop. So I look and I'm like oh crap! So I decided at that moment that this happened for a reason. I am supposed to get three recommendation letters from people that know me like my teachers and I have been putting off for a while. So I decide to go visit my high school and let some of my teachers know that I need a recommendation letter. So I get there and everything is so different. But I was really happy because I saw my music teacher and she was really happy to see me. And then some other teachers. But I was really happy because I got that done with me. Now I have to check over my resume so that they can write me a recommendation letter. It's three of them and I guess I'm going to start shopping for some cards. Every time that my teachers have written me a recommendation in high school I've sent them a card saying thank you. So I'm going to get something really funny and cute. So this discussion has been really long but I guess that's what happens when I don't have too much time to write on mylot. I have to go do some homework now so I probably won't log on to mylot until later in the evening and check this discussion and respond to other cool and awesome discussions. So tell me guys what have you guys done so far today or what do you guys need to do so far? Thanks for reading my ramblings.

There was no contingency plan for you to do something if he didn't show up? You said you would be answering the phone. I would think it would need to be answered even more if he wasn't there. I had a temp service job where my job all AM was to tell callers that my boss was not in and to schedule appointments for when he was in. Another time I had to call everyone that morning to cancel appointments because my boss was sick. I will be searching for quince and mint recipes. I will hang clothes out on the clothes line. I will work in my garden and go to a bank. Hopefully, I'll also exercise and watch DIY TV and learn more crafts. Not sure I'll get all done today, but that is the plan. I really want to make quince and mint jelly this am. Will warm up the house some. Take care.

Well I think it was because since it was my first day they didn't know exactly what I what I would do. He had to be there to help me get set up and tell me everything that I would have to do because I would be working for him. Well I hope that you were able to get everything done. Take care. ^_^

1st one done, 2nd one half of my clothes dried and were brought in, the other half are stil out there. Watered some of my garden. Went to the bank and did shopping. Did watch some DIY and learned about a couple more crafts. Came back and did make some quince and mint jelly, it was too strong in taste.

hi ayumi-chan! well i guess it was a blessing in disguise that your boss didn't come and your first day didn't go as you expected. at least you were able to finally do something that you've been long putting off. and you didn't really intended to go to your high school, and you kinda made a mistake of taking the wrong bus! that's a great coincidence right! it was fun reading what happened to yo. ^__^ as for me, i have a lot of things i need to. i've been putting some things off for a while now because i feel like i'm always busy and tired and i just want to rest during weekends. see, i only get to reply to my letters during the weekends but i haven't replied to three of the letters i received from my friends. i was supposed to do it last weekend but i got busy with writing a report so i put it off again. i just wish i can do it before this month ends.

It actually was the train. And I've been thinking about it all afternoong and I think that what happened was that there are times here that the train number in the front of the first car sometimes says the number 4 but then it's really not. They are always making mistakes like that. This happened before but I saw that it wasn't really the train that I was supposed to take. I know exactly what you mean. You keep telling yourself that you will do it later and instead you do something else but then you never get that other thing done. That has happened to me again and again. But I'm trying to not do that anymore because then all that stuff will add up. I hope that you are able to get all the things done. Good luck and take care. ^_^

Your first day at your internship just wasn't meant to be...What was meant to be was the train ride to your high school and getting those recommendation letters you needed..Everything will work out for you... Today I am just responded to everyone on mylot..I usually take care of my grandsons but they are home sick...so I have the day off....nothing really needs to be done here right away...

Well then you have a pretty good day I guess. It was meant to be. I am glad that I finally got that done with. I'm going to go over my resume as soon as possible and make sure everything is okay and then send it to them. I hope that your grandsons get better. Take care

Awww... The first day just wasn't today. Getting those letters was really important, so you did accomplish something that mattered a lot. Don't forget to photocopy them in case they're needed again. Tomorrow will be that much better!

Oh yeah I know. And I was thinking about that last week. I was thinking that I need to get those letters as soon as possible and I needed to make some time to get and get them. And I guess that I did make some time afer all thanks to my boss. Oh and I will definitely not forget to photocopy them. Those will be really important. I'll make copies and keep them in a folder.
